These are the products that I especially liked using in October. The seasons were changing and these items worked well during the transition from summer to fall. The days can still be very warm in Virginia in October but the nights remind you that winter is coming. I have included makeup products and skin care products.
Vaseline Intensive Care Healing Serum – this has pure cocoa butter in it and smells like chocolate. It says on the package that our body serums contain the concentrated power of micro-droplets of Vaseline jelly wrapped with silky luxurious moisturizers to give you 10x deep healing power. It is a white lotion that is not greasy at all and is easily absorbed by the skin. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. Plus it smells like chocolate. I got this in a Walmart beauty box but I can see myself buying more when this tube runs out.
Freeman Banana Oat Mask – this mask is for all skin types. It has alpha-hydroxy and is described as an exfoliating smoothie for radiant skin. It is a gel mask that you leave on for 5 to 7 minutes. It does burn a little and leaves my face red after I rinse it off. You are supposed to put on moisturizer immediately. In the morning the redness is gone and my face feels so soft and smooth. This a good mask at a great price. I paid $3.29 for a 6 oz tube and it will last for many, many uses.
Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana – I’m not sure why this is called a bronzer. It is not a bronzer in any sense of the word. It is an absolutely gorgeous highlighter in a warm golden color. It has a hint of shimmer but is not at all glittery. I brush this along the top of my cheekbones after I put on my blush and it makes my skin glow. I also brush it between my eyes and right above my eyebrows. It costs about $5.00 and I bought mine at a Dollar General store. It looks beautiful and I cannot imagine you could find a better highlighter at any price. I love, love, love this product and use it almost every day. I will repurchase if I ever run out. The compact is huge and you get a lot of product. Plus you don’t use much. Try it and I promise you won’t regret buying it.
Maybelline Superstar Better Skin Concealer in Light – this concealer is supposed to help lighten dark spots over time. It covers well and blends nicely. I use it on my dark spots and am pleased with the coverage. I will repurchase when I finish this tube.
Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup – tested for streaking and fading at 88°F with a constant 80% humidity, all to prove Stay-Matte stays fresh. At the same time, this patent-pending formula absorbs shine, controls oil, resists sweat. And you stay matte all day. I have this in the shades Alabaster, Linen, and Fair. My problem with Clinique foundation is that I struggle to find a shade that is light enough for me. I don’t think I am overly fair but none of these shades are light enough. I can wear them but I need to blend well on my neck. Having said that, this is an awesome foundation if you have oily skin. With most foundations my face looks muddy by the end of the day. I don’t have that problem with this foundation. It keeps me shine free all day. The coverage is medium to full and it stays in place all day long. I have repurchased this many times and will continue to do so as long as I have oily/combination skin.
L.A. Colors Luxe Lash Mascara in Black – Get ready for lush and luxurious lashes that super intensify your eyes. Formula nourishes and conditions with Vitamin E and Panthenol. Specially designed brush weaves and coats lashes for extreme lift and length. This mascara promises to lift and lengthen lashes. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this mascara. It is one of the best mascaras I have ever used. It lengthens and adds volume. It does not clump at all until the tube is almost empty. If all that is not enough it costs $3.49 at Dollar General. I just happened to find this at Rugged Warehouse for $1.99 and thought I would give it a try. It has become one of my favorite mascaras ever and I will definitely repurchase this. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lips and Lashes – Dissolves and “lifts away” long-wearing makeup, even waterproof mascara. Non-irritating, non-stinging. This stuff works so well. It takes off all my eye makeup and leaves nothing behind. It doesn’t sting or burn my eyes and doesn’t leave an oily or greasy residue behind. It removes makeup without tugging or pulling on my eyes.At my age I need to be gentle in the eye area and this lets me do that while removing all traces of eye makeup and mascara. It even takes off waterproof mascara easily. The only downside is that it costs $19 for a small bottle. I buy trail sizes on Ebay and get them at a lower price. I will try some cheaper drugstore brands to see if any of them work as well. If not, then I will buy more of this.
IT Hello Lashes Mascara in Black – Developed with leading plastic surgeons, Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara revolutionizes and takes the place of 5 products: 1) Your natural volumizing mascara, 2) Your conditioning, hydrating lash primer, 3) Your lash enhancing serum, 4) Your lash tint and 5) your lash comb/curler! Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara offers the blackest of the black color that lasts all day and never flakes or fades. The triple brush lengthens, curls and separates lashes while the innovative Magic Wand Lash Ball Detailer tip is designed to reach every last inner and outer corner lash. I got a trail size of this in my October Ipsy bag. I would not have purchased it on my own since it retails for $24. Yes, you read that right – $24!! I cannot justify spending that much on mascara. But if I had unlimited funds I would buy this. It is pretty incredible. My lashes have never been as thick or as long as this mascara gets them. It doesn’t clump at all and goes on easily. I am glad that I got the chance to try it and hope I get lucky enough to get another sample someday.
So these are the products I was really loving in October. I am still using most of these products but a few will show up in November Empties at the end of this month.
The Vaseline healing serum is amazing for the colder weather we have coming. I know I’ll definitely need it! I love all of the products you chose- some of them I’ve never even tried. Great post! I have some beauty favorites and reviews you might enjoy as well- check it out! 🙂

I have liked using the Vaseline but I still think that then Avon Gelled Body Oil is the absolute best thing for dry skin. It keeps my skin soft and makes my feet look like I have had a pedicure. If you haven’t tried it I highly recommend it.
