November BoxyCharm

This is my first BoxyCharm subscription and it was a good one. I went ahead and prepaid for a year’s subscription which reduced the price a bit. This box costs $21 per month but if you prepay for 12 months you get a free box. The box contains 5 full sized or luxury sample sized products each month. This is my November box:

pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4 in 1 Eye Adore Serum – this is a full size product that retails for $65. Active ingredients like soy protein and French marine plants bring 4x the power against aging in this intensive eye serum. Works against wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness, while still hydrating and lifting. When you get to be my age you are always looking for an effective eye product. I feel like my eyes show my age more than any other place on my face. I am really looking forward to trying this out. I currently am finishing up an open container of eye cream but once I am done with it I will try this. Personally I cannot see myself ever paying $65 for an eye serum but I will certainly try it out now that I have it.

Studio Makeup Soft Blend Blush in Dusky Rose – this is another full size product that sells for $17. Silky smooth texture and highly pigmented for long-wear. This blush provides natural looking color and contour instantly brightens the look of the face. It is hard to see the color in the picture but it is a very pretty pink color. It is a cream blush and I have never had success with cream blushes. I have always had trouble blending them in and I look like a clown. I do not have that problem with this blush. I wore it today and it blends so well. It leaves a gorgeous sheer color on my cheeks. It is not too dewy and the finish is very natural. I will use this regularly.

Manna Kadar’s Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain in Lucky – another full size product that sells for $24. The latest innovation in lip stains. Smooth application keeps lips hydrated with a pigment that lasts for hours. Contains Vitamins A & E & Berry extracts. The color of this goes very well with the blush. I’m not sure that the color looks great on me. It does moisturize the lips but it feels a bit thick and heavy. It transfers easily and I don’t see much stain effect. It feels and looks more like a liquid lipstick than either a gloss or a stain. It is an ok product and I will use it some.

Coolway Leave-In Treatment – this full size product is $19.95. For beautiful hydrated and shiny hair with no split ends. Use anytime to boost moisture. It can be used on dry or damp hair. I don’t style my hair on workdays so I have little use for products like this. I will try it this winter when my hair gets dry and fly away. Maybe it will help with that.

Luxie Rose Gold Concealer Eye Brush – Obviously this is full size and retail is $12. Made without parabens, this vegan makeup brush is specially handcrafted and coated with antibacterial solution. Soft to the touch and gentle on the skin, this brush gives way to  precise makeup application. I use a damp sponge to put on my concealer. I will give this a try at some point but the damp sponge works for me.

Clearly, I got my money’s worth with my first BoxyCharm box. I will use the blush and the eye serum regularly. I will occasionally use the hair treatment and lip stain. If I like the concealer brush it will get used too. All in all I am very pleased with this box. I can hardly wait to see what is in my December box.
