As December draws to a close I will share some of the products I have been loving this month. It is typically cold here in Virginia but we are having an unusually warm winter. In January I may have more cold weather favorites. This month there are only 2 makeup items since the cooler weather makes me focus more on my body.
This is a picture of me wearing my favorite lipstick for December. It is a beautiful, bright, red shade that is fabulous for a holiday look. This is the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in the shade Underage Red. I got a sample tube in a Holiday Beauty sample kit from Sephora. It has been my go to lipstick for holiday gatherings. It is a matte formula that lasts and lasts. It is very transfer resistant and it doesn’t dry my lips out.
Now for the rest of my favorites for the month of December. as pictured above. As you can see the scent of peppermint figures heavily. For me peppermint is the scent of the holidays.
Soft Soap Holiday Edition Hand Soap in Peppermint Candy Cane. I look for this every year so that I can have it for Christmas. It smells so great and puts me in the holiday spirit. I have it in my bathroom and kitchen so I can enjoy it all season long.
Deep Steep Peppermint Vanilla Argan Oil Body Lotion. I mentioned this and the body wash in my T.J. Maxx Haul post. You can see that post here . This is a very nice, moisturizing body lotion with a very pepperminty scent. It is easily absorbed into the skin when you put it on. It leaves a good peppermint scent that is not overpowering. I have been using this several times a week and I love the scent!
Deep Steep Peppermint Vanilla Argan Oil Body Wash. The scent of this body wash is just amazing. It is a great wake me up on work mornings when I am in the shower at 5:15 a.m. As if the scent is not eye opening enough, it also makes your body feel cool all over. It leaves a cold, tingly feeling that I have never experienced in a body wash before. It has a luxurious, creamy lather. I am really loving this!
Dove Quench Absolute Supreme Creme Serum. This is a creamy serum that moisturizes the hair. It is applied to dry hair. I use it on the days I don’t wash my hair to tame frizz and make the ends look less dry. It is not oily at all and is quickly absorbed into the hair. It has a light, fresh scent that lasts. It makes my hair look smooth and shiny. It came in a Target Beauty Box and is a deluxe sample size. I will probably buy the full size when I run out. I think it will be nice to have in the winter when my hair gets so fly away and full of static.
It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Must Haves Eyeshadow Palette. This is my first experience with It Cosmetics eye shadows and I am very impressed. As you can see in the picture, it is a neutral palette with some very pretty colors. The shadows have a buttery texture and blend like a dream. They are very pigmented and have next to no fall out when applied. This little palette allows you to make a nice variety of looks from casual to more dramatic. This is one that will see a lot of use in the coming year.
Betty Dain Stylish Design Terry Lined Shower Cap , the “Socialite Collection” in Safari Spots. If you had told me 3 months ago that, not only would I own a shower cap, but it would be a favorite I would not have believed you. Up until a few months ago I was still washing my hair every single day. It was oily most of my life and it is very fine. It wasn’t until I started straightening it that I realized it didn’t need to be washed every day. At first I was just pulling it back in a pony tail or clipping it back when I showered. But thanks to YouTube I discovered shower caps. The terry lined was recommended because it helps keep the hair dry. I will have to use one without terry cloth in the summer because I can see it being way too hot. I am now just washing my hair 3 times a week. I wash and straighten it on Sunday. I wash it on Wednesday and Friday and wear it natural. I am happy to be able to have different looks and the shower cap has helped me with that.
So, these are the products and items I have been loving this month. Most of them are new and were good finds. Except for the hand soap which is limited edition, I will continue to love the other items well into the new year. What are you loving in December?
