5 Faves in August

August is almost at an end and I have looked over the products I used this month and identified my top 5 favorite items. These are products that I use regularly and don’t think of when I am thinking about my monthly favorites. I tend to talk about those products that I am using to address something specific that month. Only 1 of these products is one that I use to address shine in hot and humid weather. The other 4 are products that I use at least weekly, if not daily.

Clinique Stay Matte Foundation – Tested for streaking and fading at 88°F with a constant 80% humidity, all to prove Stay-Matte stays fresh. At the same time, this patent-pending formula absorbs shine, controls oil, resists sweat. And you stay matte all day. This is my go to foundation once it gets hot and humid outside. It controls my oily shine better than any foundation I have ever used. It is my Holy Grail for summer. It goes on so easily and looks matte all day long. Now that I am older I don’t need to use a matte foundation in the winter so I will put it away once the weather gets cooler and dryer. I use shade 2 – Alabaster. My only problem with this is I struggled to find my a good match for me. There are 3 shades that I can use but none of them are ideal. I love it enough that I can live with this though.

Reusable Silicone Sheet Mask Cover – I love me some masks and this is an awesome accessory for sheet masks. I look like a horror movie serial killer when I use it but it makes the masks better. You put it over a sheet mask and it helps press the serum into your skin. I feel like it makes my masks much more effective. It also helps keep the mask on as it starts to dry. You can buy this for about $5 on Amazon here. If you like sheet masks you should buy one of these.

It leaves my face so clean and soft. It never feels dry and it always feels clean after I wash. I use this every night and can’t imagine finding anything I liked better. This is my Holy Grail face cleanser. If you keep your eyes open, especially on Black Friday, you can get a good deal on this. I bought it for the first time last year from Sephora at Christmas. I got a 12 oz bottle for $15 and I am still only about 2/3 through it. I recommend it no matter what skin type you have. It is pretty near the perfect cleanser.

It is an opaque black that is easy to apply. You can line your eyes thick or thin with this eyeliner.
