My Take on Sunscreen – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen

In the spring I started tretinoin/Retin A  (read about Retin A here and here) and started looking for a good high SPF facial sunscreen. See reviews on some others here and here. I am looking for a sunscreen that is not greasy or heavy, doesn’t make my face look too white, that doesn’t make my makeup go on badly.  This sunscreen gets great reviews everywhere. It seems to be one of the most popular sunscreens on drugstore shelves. I tried this one even though I have never had much luck with Neutrogena face products.

It promises a lightweight clean feel, fast absorbing, water resistant (80 minutes), and #1 dermatologist recommended suncare.  Neutrogena Ultra Sheer with Helioplex provides superior broad-spectrum protection against skin-aging UVA and burning UVB rays and continues it with Dry-Touch technology for a lightweight, clean feel.

This one is not as thick and pasty as some of the others were. It didn’t feel greasy going on and blended pretty easily. The white cast was not as bad and my makeup looked fine over this sunscreen. It really is a good sunscreen and it is easy to see why it is one of the top drugstore sunscreens. I wish it had worked for me because it is reasonably priced and easy to find.

My problem with this one is that it broke me out. I had little bumps on my forehead. There is something in the Neutrogena line that my face doesn’t like. That is too bad because I liked almost everything else about it. It was so close to what I am looking for in my ideal sunscreen. If you have no issues with Neutrogena products I can wholeheartedly recommend this.
