Makeup and Skin Care for Mature Skin

The July Boxycharm (see it here) was awesome so I wasn’t sure what to expect in August.I am usually satisfied with Boxycharm and this month was no exception. I am very satisfied with almost everything in the box. It is not as good as July but it is hard to beat a magnetic palette with 6 eyeshadows. Let’s talk about the products!

Coastal Scents Blush + Bronzer Mini Palette – Evereything for a stunning face, all in one palette! It’s all about your creativity…it’s all about your look. This comes with a little angled contour brush. I love this! I have used it often since I received it. The bronzer shades work well for contouring and the highlighter shade is a natural, subtle shade. I like both blushes and they are highly pigmented. You need to apply sparingly to avoid looking like a clown. It is always easier to add more blush than it is to take some off. This will be a nice palette to travel with since it will have blush, contour/bronzer, and highlighter all in one cute little package.

Aloette Time Repair Serum – Time Repair Serum is a powerful age-defying skin care complex, fortified with alpha and beta hydroxy acids to smooth away dead skin cells and powerful antioxidants to protect skin from damaging free radicals. Formulated for all skin types, this nonirritating, lightweight formula absorbs quickly to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, for a renewed radiance.  I am always willing to try a new serum. At my age, I am open to anything that promises anti-aging benefits. I have only used this a couple of times so I can’t give a complete review of it. It is a full sized bottle so it is more than enough for me to see if it works for me. So far it as done no harm and that is a good thing!

Dirty Little Secrets Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick – Create a long-lasting velvet matte lip with this gorgeous liquid lipstick newly launched by Dirty Little Secret. I have only tried this on once and then took it off almost immediately.  I don’t love the color. It is a bright orangey red that is so very loud. I just don’t know when and where I would wear this shade.I’m just not sure this color is for me. I can’t really say much about how it wears since I only tried it on.

Makeup Eraser AmpliMascara – From the creators of the Makeup Eraser, we introduce to you: AmpliMascara!  Use this bold mascara to seriously amp up your look by creating a full and thick set of lashes. I have so much mascara already that I don’t even know when I will get to this one! Mascara seems to be a staple in subscription boxes/bags and I have more than I will use anytime soon.

Beauty for Real Shadow Stick – This paraben free and cruelty free, long-wearing, cream-to-powder eyeshadow stick is easy to apply and is infused with meadowfoam seed oil to moisturize, rejuvenate, ajd reduce signs of aging. Eyeshadow is another product that I am always happy to receive. This is a beautiful golden, bronzey shade. It goes on beautifully and lasts all day long. I like this a lot and will use it. I am very pleased with it. 

I am totally satisfied with the blush/bronzer palette and the eyeshadow stick. I will use both of these regularly. I am happy to have received the serum I just don’t know how good it is yet. I will use the mascara at some point. The only item that doesn’t really do it for me is the liqiud lipstick. All-in-all this was another good Boxycharm box.
