5 Faves in September

Although fall starts this month, none of my choices have a fall vibe. Here in Virginia, it is still hot and humid in September so I am squeezing out every last bit of summer! Next month should feature items that do have that cool weather vibe as we start the true transition toward cold weather. For now, here are the products I was loving in September.

Proteove Oval Foundation Brush – these brushes are all the rage on You Tube. There is a brand called Artis that sells for almost $500 for the 10 piece set. I purchased the Proteove 10 piece set on Amazon for $30.00. They are nice brushes but the foundation one is the  one of the few I really use. I would have been better off to just buy the oval foundation brush singly. I could have bought one for around $10.00. I am really liking this brush. It is so very soft and smooth. I feel like it blends my foundation like a dream. It is much faster than the typical brush because it covers so much surface area. For the time being this has totally replaced my Beauty Blender.

Clinique Smart Custom – Repair Serum –  Our smart serum understands the particular needs of your skin, providing custom repair for the damage you see and the damage you don’t. For all ages, all ethnicities. Targets multiple concerns, including: Diminishing lines and wrinkles, Firming and lifting skin, Reducing dark spots and evening skin tone, and, Improving radiance and texture. I have used this before and really like it. It was actually the very first serum that I ever used. It leaves my face feeling so soft and silky. The lines do seem reduced and my texture improved. My only issue is the cost. A 4 week supply is $60 and that is just more than I want to spend. There are other serums that I like at a better price. This is very nice and I am loving it for now! It is a very nice serum to transition into fall and dryer weather when I will need to up my skincare regimen.

Sedona Lace 28 Blush Palette – Everyone knows that makeup is never complete without blush. We have introduced a palette with 28 shades varying from light pink to deep dark pink as well as a couple of neutral blushes. This palette is perfect for anyone who loves blush, so many different shades in one palette! I love this blush palette! I got it from Amazon for $15.95. It has some beautiful shades and they are super pigmented. They blend well and stay all day. There are 3 shades that are very nice highlighters. I find myself reaching for this in the fall because it has some warm orange and deep rose shades that go well with fall looks. This palette gives me so much variety and it was so inexpensive.

Hey Honey Trick and Treat Cream Concealer – Bees are a nuisance most of the time, but those little buzzers are like magic when it comes to our skin. This creamy undereye concealer is packed with active propolis, a resinous mixture that honeybees collect from trees and flowers. Its natural properties restore and revitalize skin’s structure, making it an ideal defense against wrinkles and discoloration. The lightly pigmented formula covers dark circles as a blend of amino acid-rich proline and palm oil smooth and hydrate the entire eye area. This came in my August Birchbox (see what else was in that box here). I love the Maybelline Age Rewind and was not considering a new undereye concealer. Then I tried this and I really like it! It is gel-like and sticky. It blends like a dream and lasts all day without settling in the lines under my eyes. I really like this product!

Bath and Body Works Signature Collection Shower Gel and Lotion in Peony – KEY FRAGRANCE NOTES: The perfect blend of delicate flowers, inspired by a walk in a beautiful English garden. As I have mentioned in me Empties posts ( here and here) I am working my way through a linen closet full of bath and body products. I freely admit that I am a hoarder! So, I pulled out this set for the month of September. I know that peony would have been far more seasonally appropriate for May or June but I overlooked them until now. They smell amazing! The scent lingers all day long and I absolutely love it. Bath and Body Works make great shower gels and lotions so they leave my skin soft and smooth. I don’t know how this ever got pushed to the back of the closet.

These products have been well loved and used this month. They are among my all around favorites and will be around for a while. Some are rediscovered and some are newly discovered but they are all awesome. What are your favorites in September?
