This month I am including something from my August Birchbox. I had not used it enough in August to include it in Best of the Boxes in August. I will include items that were not immediately a candidate for Best of the Boxes in the month they were received.Sometimes I already have the same kind of product opened and I can’t even try it right away. Sometimes I may initially think I won’t like it and not try it right away. Sometimes I need to learn to use a product properly to see how much I like it. Let’s start with the item from last month.
Hey Honey Trick and Treat Cream Concealer – this creamy undereye concealer contains active propolis, a mixture honeybees collect from nature that naturally helps revitalize, smooth, and hydrate the entire eye area. I liked this from the first use and I have come to love it over the past month. It goes on like a sticky gel. I guess the honey makes it sticky. It has a yellow undertone and blends well. It highlights my entire eye area without emphasizing the fine lines. It doesn’t crease or settle at all during the day. It looks almost as good at the end of the day as it does at the beginning. Of course, I love it because it is $32 a tube. I was totally satisfied with my Maybelline Age Rewind at around $6 until I tried this one. I may have to see if I can find it at any better price. You can see what else I got in the August Birchbox this came in here
In my September Ipsy Bag, I got Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Teaser – Hello, wide eyes. A matte chestnut shade that’s ideal for creating the perfect doe-eyed look. If Bambie used shadow, it would be this one. This is a lovely warm, bronzy brown shade. It is creamy and blends well. This is a perfect crease shade that wears well. It is perfect for fall and warm eye looks. It is a very light crease shade and could be used as a lid shade. It is hard to find a good matte shade for the crease so this is definitely a Best of the Boxes.
Boxycharm included this wonderful lip product –Pur Lip Lure Hydrating Lip Lacquer in Mystic – Let your lips speak for you with beautifully bold color and brilliant shine! PÜR’s richly pigmented lip lacquers saturate your lips in true colour and pout-perfecting hydration. Using a unique, flocked showerhead applicator, this creamy, full-coverage liquid formula creates a showstopping look in just one stroke. This came in my September Boxycharm. This is a deep, rich berry shade that is perfect for fall. It has a sponge tip applicator that makes putting it on a breeze. It goes on creamy and a bit thick. It takes awhile but it dries down to a vibrant matte look.It lasted through breakfast and lunch. It is long wearing and did not dry my lips out at all. I love this formula.
As if that wasn’t enough Boxycharm also included Studio Makeup – On-The-Go Palette – On the Go eyeshadow palette is a compilation of shades that updates the bare beauty look with a cosmopolitan attitude. The On the Go Eyeshadow Palette includes 9 shades that are perfect for creating day or night looks! You know I am all about an eyeshadow palette. Especially a neutral one because you can never have too many neutral shadows. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but that bronzey shade in the middle is crazy pigmented. It looks like a foil shade and is beautiful. All the colors pack a punch. This is a great little palette. It’s small size and versatility makes it perfect for travel.
Another amazing lip product came in my September Birchbox. LOC Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil in Cherry Bomb – These high-shine lip pencils from Birchbox brand LOC are packed with hydrating ingredients that keep lips super-smooth. The paraben- and cruelty-free formula provides moisture, nourishment, and color that lasts all day. The pointed tip ensures precise application every time, and each product is the perfect compact size to help you stay on-trend wherever, whenever. I was not impressed at all when I got this. When I opened it the tip broke off and I got deep, pigmented lipstick all over my hands and bathroom counter. I wasn’t sure about the color either because it was so bright and intense. And then I tried it on. It looks so beautiful. It is a deep, rich, creamy, shiny product that looks so good on the lips. It feels good, too. It is not an everyday look at all but it is good for days you want to make a statement.
Boxycharm won in September for sure. It had awesome products and the lip lacquer and eye shadow palette really knocked it out of the park!
