Sometimes a product just doesn’t work for you. Or maybe you find a similar product that works better or is cheaper. Or possibly you add a product to your routine and it doesn’t work with something else you are using. There are many, many reasons to stop using a product and it does not have to mean the product itself is bad. It just doesn’t work for you, now. I save these products up and pass them on, mostly to my mom. All of the products below went to my mom.
Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush – Innovative sonic facial cleansing brush that works with your cleanser to create your greatest skin ever. Dermatologist-developed and Swiss-engineered. Waterproof. For all Skin Types. Meet our new skin-changer: Sonic movement offers deep yet gentle cleansing. Angled tip targets T-Zone and other hard to reach areas. Gently lifts the makeup, dirt and oil hand washing may miss. This is a limited edition design from Lord & Taylors. There are 2 replacement brush heads that I had purchased at the Clinique outlet. I learned about this cleansing brush last year when I started using the Clinique 3 Step System. I felt like I needed something to help me get my skin perfectly clean and this was part of the skincare line I was already using and loving. I did love this for about 4 months. In addition to getting my skin clean, it left it feeling so silky soft and smooth. This is one of those products that I did like but I found something I liked better. I learned about the Clarisonic and had to have it. I got it for Christmas last year and have used it ever since. The Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush is good and I don’t think anyone would regret buying it.
Timeless hyaluronic acid serum 100% pure – Our best selling serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid, one the most powerful hydrating and moisturizing ingredients on the market today. Holds up to 1000 times its weight in water! We use a 1% formula, which is twice the amount of hyaluronic acid that is used in other formulas. I ordered this after several You Tubers recommended the Vitamin C Serum made by this company. Hyaluronic Acid helps increase hydration and may help with anti-aging. It is included in many moisturizers, foundations, and primers to increase hydration. It is a slippery feeling serum that dries fairly quickly on the skin. I used it for about 4 months and honestly never saw that I got any benefit from it. There are too many other serums out there to try that I just didn’t see the point in wasting time finishing this one. It was still 1/2 full so it was too much to throw away. Hopefully, my mother will get some benefit from it.
RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum – This light-weight RoC Retinol formula helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles. After four weeks, skin appears more radiant, fine lines are smoothed and skin firmness is improved. After eight weeks, crow’s feet are visibly reduced and discoloration is diminished. After 12 weeks, deep wrinkles are visibly reduced. This formula glides on easily and absorbs quickly, leaving your skin feeling smooth and velvety and is ideal for use under makeup. This is an example of a product that I really liked but had to stop using when I started using tretinoin (generic for Retin A). You can learn more about tretinoin here and here. You can follow my journey Starting Tretinoin and Restarting Tretinoin after Vacation: First Month. This would have been too much in conjunction with prescription strength tretinoin. It is a great serum though and made my skin feel wonderful. My mother really likes it too.
My mother made out with some great beauty products. Only the hyaluronic acid serum was a fail for me. The other 2 products were once much loved until new products pushed them out. Do you like any of these? What do you do with products that you are no longer using?

I hope your mum will like the hyaluronic acid serum.

Hi! Great post. I am tempted by those sonic brushes but worry they would cause dryness. I’m a non young blogger too! Xx

I love the Clarisonic but I do need to only use it 3x a week to avoid excess dryness.
