Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that is $10 per month. Each month you get 5 samples that range from small samples to deluxe samples to the occasional full-size product. You get makeup, skincare, hair care, beauty tools, and bath and body products packed inside a different makeup bag each month. I generally enjoy this subscription and have gotten some great products. See bags from past months here, here, and here. The theme this month is Black Magic and the bag is so cute! It is a decent bag of samples this month.
noyah Natural Lipstick in Smoke – Like buttah. This incredibly smooth and moisturizing formula glides on and leaves a lovely semi-matte finish. Decadence on the daily. Vitamin B and shea butter plump and hydrate. Lightweight with staying power. Lasts from morning coffee to happy hour. For me, Smoke is a nude shade that is only slightly darker than my lips. I liked the way it looked on my lips. I cannot say how well it lasts since it looks so much like my natural color! It is a very nice nude for fall that is a matte finish.
NUDESTIX Concealer Pencil in Light 2 – Minds = blown. We can’t believe such a creamy formula comes in a stick. Glides on smoothly with no dry time. And perfectly portable for on-the-go touchups. A natural fit. Blends right into skin to cover blemishes, marks, spots and undereye circles. Lasts throughout the day and doesn’t settle into fine lines. A total conditioning treatment. Shea butter and vitamin E hydrate. This is so crazy creamy! I did not expect that from a stick concealer. My impression of stick concealers is the lipstick type that are usually dry and streaky. This goes on so well and conceals nicely. The shade is warm and works really well for my skin.It has decent coverage for my hyperpigmented areas.
Kokie Cosmetics Kokie Nail Polish in Heavenly – A castle on a cloud. This bluish lilac shade was sent from above to grace our nails. A compliment-magnet (we get them every time). We all shine on. Glossy finish adds luster to any look. A chip off the old… nothing. Withstands everyday wear and tear. Good for the entire week. The stay-put formula lasts. This is a beautiful color but I only do my toe nails. And only in sandal wearing months. Because what is the point when no one is seeing your toes? It is a pretty periwinle shade that looks cute on my toes. That only I see!
Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner in Trooper – The liner that turned us all into liquid lovers. The flexible brush tip was the first of its kind to draw such precise lines—and remains our daily go-to. Not going anywhere. Waterproof, fadeproof, melt-proof and run-proof. 325 bristles in the super tight point give you greater control over your lines. Perfect for newbies and pros. Glides on for easy fine lines, wings and detail work. I was so excited to get to try this. I have heard and read so many glowing reviews about how this is a Holy Grail eyeliner. Not for me. It is an opaque, black matte color that lasts all day but I don’t like the tip. It skipped on my eyes and made it look odd. I’ll stick withStila Stay All Day. Update – After using this I do like it. It is not as good as the Stila but I ahve learned to like it.
Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Wash Off Mask – Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Wash Off Mask is formulated with a unique blend of salts & minerals from the Dead Sea in Israel. This gentle mud treatment draws out dirt and impurities from your skin and peels away dead skin cells. Helps to restore elasticity and fortify the skin with essential moisturizers Stimulates and beautifies your skin and body. Deep cleansing formula is good for all skin types. This was an ok mask. It was a black mask and I find black masks very hard to totally rinse off. It left my skin soft and there was no burning or stinging.
This was a decent bag. Although I didn’t like the Kat Von D eyeliner I was happy to get a chance to try it without having to pay for a full sized tube. The mask is fine and I will get at least 2 uses from it, maybe 3. I will use the lipstick and the concealer and will try the nail polish. I have had better bags and I have had worse. Wonder what November holds?
