Last month I had a ton of empties so this month is less. I do have a bunch of samples for this month. I am trying to use up all the small samples I have because they take up space. I am also still working my way through a huge amount of shower gels and lotions. I try to empty at least 1 bottle each month and would love to get through more than that. How did I do this month?
SKINCARE
Timeless 20% C+E+Ferulic Acid Serum – Contains Vitamin C, an antioxidant that evens skin tone and helps build collagen. Also contains vitamin E and Ferulic Acid, used to extend the life and effectiveness of vitamin C. We use a 20% concentration of L-ascorbic acid for maximum benefit. Our product is guaranteed fresh and effective for 3 months. I started this serum about the time I started using Tretinoin back in April. It lasted longer than 3 months because I kept it refrigerated in its box. I poured enough in another bottle to last about 2 months and refilled it as needed. I like this serum and will repurchase when I finish a sample sized one that I got in a subscription box. I think this does brighten my skin and make it feel firmer.
Vichy Idealia Life Serum – Vichy’s first treatment to combat behavioral skin aging. In just 8 days, skin quality is transformed–tone is illuminated, pores are visibly refined, skin is moisturized and complexion is more youthful-looking. I only got 2 or 3 uses out of this little foil packet so I can’t really say how good it is. I did not like the scent at all. It was heavy and perfumey. The serum did leave my skin feeling smooth. I don’t know if I would consider purchasing this or not.
Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum – Our smart serum understands the particular needs of your skin, providing custom repair for the damage you see and the damage you don’t. For all ages, all ethnicities. Targets multiple concerns, including: Diminishing lines and wrinkles, Firming and lifting skin, Reducing dark spots and evening skin tone, Improving radiance and texture. Although this is just a sample size, I have purchased the full size in the past. This was actually the first serum I ever used. I like it and it makes my skin feel very soft and smooth. I like it enough that it was one of my 5 Faves in September. What I do not like is the cost. A 4-week supply costs $60 and that is more that I can, or would, spend on a single skincare product in a month.
Avon Anew Vitale Day Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 25 – Revive the look and feel of tired skin with Anew Vitale Day Cream. Formulated with VitaTone Complex, it evens out skin tone, while returning vibrancy, reducing dullness and improving clarity. This day cream with SPF protection helps your skin look beautiful and protect it from further sun damage. Comes in a 1.7 oz jar and is suitable for all skin tones. This was another foil packet that only had 2-3 uses so I wasn’t able to see any benefits from it. I did like the feel of it. It was a light moisturizer that went on well and worked well with my makeup. This is something I might purchase.
Buff Her House of Exfoliation Vanilla Almond Crumbles – The crumbs are our favorite part. This foaming, cleansing and exfoliating scrub lifts away impurities and sends dead skin on its way. Infused with high-quality granules of sugar and rice that polish to perfection. Leaves skin smooth, supple and radiant. Delicious light almond scent has us hooked. I received this in my September Ipsy Bag and I was really looking forward to using it. I was expecting it to smell delicious and be a wonderful, gentle scrub. It had absolutely NO smell at all. Nothing. If that wasn’t bad enough, it was a very harsh exfoliator. This is not something I would ever buy.
Malie Seaweed Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask – The product provides enough moisture and nutrition to skin exposed to stimulatiom from outside, and its active component forms protective coat and helps moisture not evaporate to moisturize your skin. The moisturizer and softener make your skin healthy, energetic and clean with enough moisture and nutrition. This is a sheet mask and is a k-beauty product. It was a nice thick mask that fit my face well. It was saturated with serum and had a light, fresh scent. There was enough essence in the packet for my neck and chest too.
Purlisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum – intense hydration + firms + brightens + decrease puffiness. This is another k-beauty product that came in a subscription box. It was just ok. I saw nothing special and sometimes my eyes looked very dry by the end of the day. I would not purchase this.
Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45 – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 45 feels like you have nothing on, but offers broad-spectrum protection to help prevent sun damage. This formula uses Avobenzone to provide advanced protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays, along with Dry-Touch technology for an ultra-light, non-shiny finish. Fast-absorbing, water-resistant and a non-oily formula. Heavy sun protection never felt this light on your skin. I bought this when I was searching for a daily facial sunscreen. Read my thoughts My Take on Sunscreen – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. I used the rest of this tube on my neck and chest. It is perfect for that and I may repurchase.
BATH AND BODY
Elite Therapeutics Rosemary Eucalyptus Body Crème – This luxe lotion is fielding nature’s skincare A-Team: Its impressive roster of nourishing, soothing, and hydrating botanicals start working right away to restore and smooth your skin. The velvety formula, made with 70 percent organic ingredients, features aloe vera to calm and refresh skin, soothing sweet almond oil, moisturizing shea butter, and potent antioxidant vitamin E. A proprietary blend of botanical oils, including rejuvenating rosemary and eucalyptus oils, helps stimulate circulation and boost collagen production. I received this is in a Birchbox months ago and just finally got around to using it. I don’t like it. It smells horrible. It has a sharp, acrid scent. It isn’t a great lotion either. It goes on dry feeling and did not leave my skin feeling especially soft. I would not buy this.
L’Occitane Amande Concentre De Lait Milk Concentrate – Enriched with powerful almond extracts, our Almond Milk Concentrate melts into the skin in a creamy and silky texture, to help skin look more smooth. This was a nice, silky lotion with a great scent. I liked it but not enough to pay $50 for 7 oz. It is not that much better than just a regular body lotion.
Bath and Body Works Signature Collection Pearberry Shower Gel – Wash your way to softer, cleaner skin with a rich, bubbly lather bursting with fragrance. Moisturizing Aloe and Vitamin E combine with skin-loving Shea Butter in our most irresistible, beautifully fragranced formula! Inspired by the sweet air of a summer picnic, the perfect blend of wild pears & juicy berries This is part of the overabundance of bath and body products that I am trying to use up. It is always exciting when I finish one. This is your typical Bath and Body Works shower gel. It creates thick, rich lather and smells great.
Bath and Body Works Creamy Body Wash Green Clover and Aloe – Now you can wash away dry skin every time you shower. Our extra rich Creamy Body Wash gently cleanses and softens even the driest skin while scenting it with the fresh-from-the-fields fragrance of Green Clover and Aloe. This is another shower gel that I am working my way through. It had a fresh, green scent.
Avon Mark Hand it Over Super Moisture Hand Cream Mango – Indulge in this super moisture cream that melts into skin. Leaves hands soft and smooth, providing lasting moisture through the day. In a juicy, clean mango scent. I love Avon hand and body lotions and this is another great one. It leaves my hands so soft and smooth and the smell is fantastic. This is the perfect size for your purse.
Calla Lily Body Butter – This came in some gift pack that I picked up at Rugged Warehouse. It had several jars of body butter in different scents. It was nothing special and did not make my skin feel very soft at all. I finished it up because I want to get rid of it. It is not something I would buy again even if I did find it again.
HAIR CARE
Clairol Hair Food Sulfate Free Kiwi Dry Shampoo – Pamper yourself with our unique sulfate free Hair Food Dry Shampoo infused with kiwi fragrance. The lightweight hair refresher recipe absorbs excess oils and transforms oily hair into fresh hair. I liked the scent of this dry shampoo and it did refresh my hair. My issue with it is that the nozzle was terrible. It came out in spurts and got white dry shampoo everywhere. I wasn’t even able to finish it because the nozzle clogged up. This is not something I will use again.
Suave Sea Mineral Infusion Texturizing Sea Salt Spray – This Sea Salt Spray, infused with Sea Minerals, helps create all-over body and loose textured look with full-bodied waves that last up to 24 hours. I liked this a lot. It made my curls look so much better and it added texture. I will buy this again once I use all the other texturizing sprays I have.
L’Oreal Root Rescue in Light Brown 6 – Rescue roots between colorings! Touch-up at the first sign of new roots or gray regrowth. Get seamless permanent color in just 10 minutes. I use this to cut down on how often I have to do a full color. It is such a great product that makes it so much easier to color my hair at home.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo – Think of this dry shampoo as a shot of espresso for your strands. The weightless spray absorbs excess oil and dirt, leaving locks clean and deodorized as well as lighter and softer. Made with antioxidant and fatty acid-rich obliphica oil, the formula simultaneously moisturizes and strengthens hair, repairs split ends, and enhances shine. Moreover, amika’s dry shampoo relies on rice starch instead of aluminum shavings or talc, and it’s safe for color-treated hair. This came in a Birchbox one month and I just got around to finishing it off. It’s fine. It makes my hair look and smell cleaner. It works but cheaper brands work just as well.
Batiste Dry Shampoo Clean & Classic Original – Make everyday your runway with Batiste Clean & Classic Original Dry Shampoo. This multi-award winning hair hero is the perfect quick fix for great looking hair, even between washes. A few quick bursts instantly transform your look. Hair looks clean and fresh with added body and texture. No water required! It’s the perfect way to extend your blow dry, free up time in the morning or to give your hair a new lease on life whenever, wherever it needs it. This is one of my favorite dry shampoos. I got this trial size in my Walmart Fall 2016 Beauty Box . It makes my hair look clean and full with a nice smell to it.
This was a good month for bath and body products. I finished 3 shower gels/lotions. At this rate, I will clean out my closet in a few years! If I can keep using them up like this I will eventually finish them all up. This month had a lot of samples and that is a trend that will continue. I have so many samples lying around and I just need to use them.
Did you finish any products this month? Do you hoard bath and body products like me? Have you used any of the products I finished this month?
