Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, hair care, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose to get products based on my profile. You can see what I typically get in my boxes here, here, here, and here. This month looks to be a pretty decent box. I will start with the product I am most excited about.
Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel – In less time than it takes to cover up a flawed complexion with caked-on foundation and concealer, you could uncover a new layer of fresh, glowing skin with this peel. The acid-free formula gently sloughs away dead skin cells, evening tone and smoothing rough patches without irritating sensitive skin. Suitable for all skin types, this pH-neutral protein peel gently exfoliates delicate skin without the use of harsh acids or abrasives. The unique gel binds to dead skin cells on the face, neck, and décolleté, forming solids that can be easily washed away with water—all in just three minutes. Great for reducing the appearance of acne scars, dark spots, rosacea, and blotchiness (and who doesn’t suffer from at least one of those?). I have never tried any kind of peel so I am looking forward to trying this. I have dark spots that I would love to lighten. We shall see if this does the trick.
dr. brandt pores no more cleanser – In a perfect world, all of our skincare products would be handpicked by a dermatologist. However, un til we invent an app for that, skincare products made by a dermatologist will certainly do the trick. Case in point: this pore-minimizing face wash. Formulated by celeb dermatologist Dr. Brandt as part of his bestselling pores no more® line, there’s no daily cleanser we trust more. Like most people, I have areas of large pores that I would love to minimize. I hope this works but usually pore reducers are formulated more for oily skin.
Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner Travel-Size Duo – What’s travel-ready, takes up hardly any room in your bag, and completely changes your makeup game? This versatile eyeliner duo. The burnished gold makes for a smoldering look (just smudge it for a sultry effect), while the black is as classic as it gets. Just as impressive is the creamy, waterproof formula that helps the liner glide onto skin and stay there. I have so many eyeliners that I can never use them all. I will eventually use the black one but cannot see using the gold one. I am pretty conservative with eyeliner and do not use it in my waterline. I wear contacts and it just seems like that is a recipe for disaster.
Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse – Some of us are on a quest for the perfect beachy waves; others dream of tons of volume and body. No matter your hair goals, chances are it takes several products to get you there, which leads to buildup—even with regular washes. This rinse treatment goes a step beyond shampoo with active lemon extracts that get rid of product residue without stripping hair of moisture. It also balances the pH of your hair to seal the cuticle (read: shiny strands) and promote a healthy scalp. This is another product I am looking forward to trying. I am sure I have buildup on my scalp and that leads to an itchy scalp. If this works I will be buying a full size since it is only $10 for a 13 oz bottle.
Molinard Violette Eau de Parfum – This bright, floral fragrance evokes everything we love about spring—the sun-drenched days, the whimsical energy in the air—all year round. Understated yet still unequivocally sophisticated, the romantic mélange of violet, iris, jasmine, and rose is grounded in base notes of heliotrope and musk, creating a scent that envelops you in the infinite possibilities of our favorite season. I don’t wear perfume so this is a loser for me. I use scented body washes and lotions because I don’t like a heavy scent. I work in an office and you never know who is allergic to perfume. So, I just don’t use it at all.
This is a pretty decent month. I am excited about 3 of the products and I will find a use for the eyeliners. The perfume is the only item I am unhappy about.
Do you get Birchbox? Did you like what you got this month? Have you tried any of the products I received in my box? Do you like them?
