I love the holidays! All the glitter, the socializing, the food. I also love that I can wear bright, bold, red lips that I don’t typically wear. The bold lips call for a glam makeup look to go with them. Here are the products I used to get this glam party look.
I started this look with Benefit Porefessional Face Primer. I don’t always use a primer but I wanted a flawless look. This makes my face feel and look smoother. Once my face was primed I applied Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Nude. This foundation was all the rage on YouTube last year and I bought it for myself as a birthday present. I don’t love it and feel like it makes my pores look more obvious. The Porefessional primer does help with that so it looked good for my party.
I concealed my under eyes with hey honey Trick And Treat: Active Propolis Cream Concealer. This came in the August Birchbox and I liked it enough to include it in Best of the Boxes – September 2016 and make it one of my 5 Faves in September. I have some areas of hyperpigmentation that I cover with Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Concealer + Corrector in Light. I blend in both concealers with a Swispper Mini Blending Sponge that works so well and is only $2.98 for a 2 pack at Walmart.
I used my Holy Grail setting powder Coty Airspun Loose Powder in Naturally Neutral to set my foundation and concealer. This works so well that I have never felt the need to buy a more expensive product. It is finely milled and sets my makeup wonderfully. It doesn’t cling to dry patches or settle in fine lines. It is an all around great product.
Once I have set my liquid products I apply color and contour to my face. My holy grail contour product is Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium / Deep Matte Bronzer. This is so soft and blendable. It lets me carve out a nice little contour under my cheeks. Urban Decay Baked Bronzer in Gilded is my daily use bronzer. It has some glitter but it isn’t obvious. For my blush, I used Laura Geller Baked Blush-N-Brighten in Pink Grapefruit. This is a sample size that came in some subscription box/bag. This is a maroony pink shade that looks good with my skin tone. My highlighter was another subscription service sample – Cougar Mineral Face & Body Shimmer in Diamond Kiss. The picture doesn’t do it justice. It is like finely powdered gold. It leaves a warm, golden glow that is perfect for this look.
Since I would be wearing a bold, red lip I wanted a more simple eye. I did still want a bit of smokey eye but nothing too much. I choose the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette. This palette was part of my Vacation Beauty Buys and I used it for Makeup for a Hot and Humid Day in Charleston. To get ready for the eyeshadow I applied my go-to eye primer the Wet ‘n’ Wild Fergie Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer. This stuff locks your eyeshadow on until you remove it. I do my eyebrows before I do my shadow. I used benefit Gimme Brow Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel. This came in some subscription box/bag and this is the first time I have tried it. I liked it but I am still figuring out this whole brow thing. I am trying different products to see what works best for me. I do like the little mascara brush style.
I started my eye look by applying Zone in my crease. After it was blended out I used Pop to highlight my browbone. It is the glitteriest shade in the palette and has so much fallout. I used Baby on my lid and blended Serious in the crease and corner of the lid for depth. I also used Serious as undereye liner. My upper eyeliner was Kat Von D Tatoo Liner in Trooper. I finished my eyes with Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Black.
I finished with the product that was the centerpeice of the whole look. Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in Lady Balls. As you can see from the pictures this is the perfect red for the holidays. It is a deep, rich red shade. It dries down quickly and lasts and lasts. I love this lip product and it definitley put the glam in this look.
Did you like my glam holiday look? Do you like to wear deeper, richer lips during the holidays? Have you tried this lip shade?
