The weather has been unusual in Virginia this January. We have had days that the temperature was in the teens with single digit or below 0 wind chills. We have had snow too. But we have also had sunny days in the upper 50’s, 60’s, even 1 day that reached 70. I feel as though I am straddling winter and spring. In looking over my list for this month none of them are the typical winter favorites. I haven’t had to use heavy lotions or moisturizers because the air hasn’t been that dry. Here are the products I have been reaching for in the month of January.
Swisspers Mini Blending Sponge – This is available at Walmart and is back with the cotton balls. They come in a 2 pack and were $2.98 at my Walmart. These are wonderful. They are soft and blend my undereye concealer like a dream. I am so happy that I found these.
Pur Lip Lure Hydrating Lip Lacquer in Mystic – Let your lips speak for you with beautifully bold color and brilliant shine! PÜR’s richly pigmented lip lacquers saturate your lips in true color and pout-perfecting hydration. Using a unique, flocked showerhead applicator, this creamy, full-coverage liquid formula creates a showstopping look in just one stroke. This came in my September Boxycharm. This is a deep, rich berry shade that is perfect for fall and winter. It has a sponge tip applicator that makes putting it on a breeze. It goes on creamy and a bit thick. It takes awhile but it dries down to a vibrant matte look.It lasted through breakfast and lunch. It is long wearing and did not dry my lips out at all. I love this formula and included it in My Favorite Fall Lip Colors. It works just as well for winter, too.
Clinique Even Better Makeup – Wear oil-free, dermatologist-developed Even Better Makeup SPF 15 and something amazing happens: Without any makeup, see improved clarity, a more even skin tone, visibly diminished age spots. To be honest I can’t see that my age spots have been diminished. I love this foundation for the almost matte finish. It lasts all day and offers medium coverage. It looks good on the skin. I used it in my Blogmas #10 – Holiday Look with High End Products.
Fresh Soy Face Cleansing Milk – Soy Face Cleansing Milk is a gentle, conditioning cleanser for all skin types that is enriched with amino acid-rich soy proteins and white hibiscus flower extract. The super sensorial, milky formula removes impurities and dissolves facial makeup while it comforts and moisturizes the skin for a soft, supple, soothed complexion. I actually wrote a full review on this cleanser. It leaves my face feeling so very soft and it cleans thoroughly. It is one of the best cleansers I have ever used.
IT Cosmetics Your Naturally Pretty Holiday Matte Eyeshadow Palette – Your Naturally Pretty Holiday Matte Eyeshadow Palette is the IT Cosmetics breakthrough eye shadow formula in shades for your most naturally pretty holiday. These 14 luxe, antiaging, silk-infused eye shadows are all matte, perfect for women of all ages. The Transforming Ombre Radiance Ribbon is a completely unique shade, designed to be added to each of the matte shades, creating a new pearlized color or adding a sheer golden veil with a simple swipe of a brush! Plus, there’s an allover shadow/liner brush for a flawless airbrushed application. This is the perfect palette for when you don’t want to think about what to grab. It is a beautiful matte palette that allows me to create both subtle and smoky looks. The shadows are buttery smooth and blend like a dream. This is a very versatile palette.
These are the 5 products that have been particular favorites in January. This has been a lazy month so it has been nice to have a basic eyeshadow palette to use and a beautiful rich, berry lip color that matches so many of my winter clothes. The cleanser is a good one for colder, dryer weather. It cleans without drying. The mini sponges have been a wonderful find.
Have you tried any of my favorites? Do you love them too? What are you loving in January?
