Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that is $10 per month. It contains 5 sample, deluxe sample, or a rare full sized product in each bag. It tends to contain more makeup products and tools. The theme for March is Tres Jolie and the bag is a cute pink bag with a textured honeycomb design. You can see what I have received in past bags here, here, here, and here. Read on to see what I got and what I think of the bag overall.
Marula Pure Beauty Oil Pure Marula Facial Oil – Trust us, marula is about to become the next “it” oil, thanks to how well it hydrates, soothes, and rejuvenates skin. This face formula feels ahh-mazing going on and absorbs quickly, so you don’t have to deal with any greasy residue. Packed with antioxidants and omega fatty acids, it’s like a multivitamin for your skin. This formula can easily be mixed into other skincare products; a few drops will transform your fave cleanser, scrub, even foundation. Don’t worry about potential pimples. Since the oil is plant based, not mineral, it won’t clog pores. I’m not sure that I can use an oil in the summer. My face is so shiny and I think an oil would add to that. I’m reluctant to try this now that spring is just around the corner.
tarte cosmetics tarteist™ quick dry matte lip paint – Vegan-friendly, this brand defines eco-chic. Whether you want bright and bold or nice and neutral, there’s a shade for that. A precision applicator makes even crazy colors easy to apply without drawing outside the lines. The velvet matte finish nails all of our Goldilocks criteria; neither too matte, nor too glossy. An extra coat can change the whole look and pump up the color dramatically, always a nice option when you’re going from day to night. I am always happy to get lip products. I have never tried the tarte matte lip paints so I am happy to get this. Well I may have been happy to get it but I’m not thrilled with it after trying it. It is very drying and looks bad on my lips.
Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush – The synthetic bristles are not only cruelty-free, they’re super durable. Translation: won’t shed all over the place. These same bristles also are perf for applying and smudging cream shadows, since they won’t absorb too much product. Whether for your crease or outer corners, it’s choice for creating smokey, smudgy, sexy looks. I love getting new brushes too. I love trying new ones to see if I can find a new favorite.
PÜR Cosmetics Disappearing Ink 4-in-1 Concealer – Like the ultimate makeup magic trick, this has a unique “Diamond Complex” to reflect light away from imperfections. It’s also full of good-for-your-skin ingredients, and we’re all about two-for-one benefits. There’s no need for multiple concealers; this is equally as good at hiding dark circles, pimples, spots, you name it. I’ll try this but I am picky about concealers.
Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow in Marisa – The shimmery rose color may look more like a blush, but is insanely pretty on lids. Try it alone (just add a little mascara) for a daytime look or with winged out liner for girly-glam vibes. We heart dual-purpose powders! This one goes on dry for a more natural and subdued effect or wet for amped up drama. Our Creators are obsessed with how this powder formula glides right on without caking or creasing. I got a blush by Doucce in Ipsy Bag November 2016 and loved it enough to make it a Best of the Boxes November 2016. I am excited about this eye shadow. The color will work well with my green eyes. This is a great color and formula.
This looks to be a decent bag this month. I love getting lip products and new eyeshadows. I hope I will like the concealer. I am always on the lookout for the perfect concealer. Well, who isn’t?? And of course, I can never have too many brushes. Check back to see if any of these samples make my next Best of the Boxes.
