Makeup and Skin Care for Mature Skin

I received a nice sized sample of Soap & Glory Face Soap and Clarity in the  Target Beauty Box February 2017.  I was familiar with the Soap & Glory brand from YouTube but this was the first product I tried. This 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash smoothes and purifies for super clean, fresh and bright skin. With complexion-friendly, non-drying, easy-rinse ingredients including natural SUPERFRUIT™ YUZU and ULTRA-SOFT SCRUB-BEADS, this high-tech foaming facial wash is a multitasking miracle. 

The ingredients are:  Aqua (Water/Eau), Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Lauric Acid, Sodium Methyl Isethionate, Synthetic Wax, Dipropylene Glycol, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Zinc Laurate, Limonene, Polyquaternium-7, Benzophenone-4, Amyl Cinnamal, Citric Acid, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Citral, Methylisothiazolinone, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Lecithin, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, CI 73360 (Red 30), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 42090 (Blue 1), Maltodextrin. 

The Vitamin C is listed pretty far down on the ingredient list. I’m not sure how much benefit you can get from it. It does have a lovely citrus scent, though!

This is a blue gel with fine pink/red bead exfoliators. It has a wonderful citrus scent that helps wake me up in the morning. For reference, my skin is normal/combo with the combo being mostly oily but with some dry patches in colder weather and I use tretinoin. I am using this cleanser as an exfoliator in the morning. I use it 2-3 times per week so I don’t over exfoliate my skin. I think it might be too drying to use daily along with tretinoin. I have to be very careful and use mild cleansers. The directions say to use a grape-sized amount but I think that is too much. It lathers easily and a little goes a long way for me. There is a pleasant tingle as you wash your face. It is not a burning, just a nice little cooling tingle. It rinses clean and does not leave my face feeling dry or tight.

This is a very reasonably priced cleanser and can be purchased at Target, Ulta, and Walgreens. An 11.8 oz. bottle retails for $12.00. It doesn’t take much so that size bottle would last a really long time.

This may be a good daily cleanser for me in the hot, humid summer months. Soap & Glory also has a Peaches and Cream Deep Pore Cleansing Milk that I want to eventually try too. Using this in the limited way I have been is working well with my tretinoin. I have not had any flaking or dryness on the mornings that I am using this.
