Birchbox March 2017

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, haircare, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose to get products based on my profile. You can see what I typically get in my boxes here,  here,  here,  hereand here. This month is all about high-performing heroes that will bring out your inner boss and the theme is Pretty Mighty. Read on to see what I got in my box this month.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer – Of all the beauty minefields out there, visible pores are one of the trickiest to dodge. Foundation alone doesn’t do the trick, which is why we turn to this translucent balm to shrink the appearance of our pores. The silky, oil-free formula diffuses pores and fine lines for an airbrushed finish, and it goes on sheer, leaving skin smoother and more even. We can use it as a primer in the mornings or as a touch-up treatment throughout the day. Perfect T-zone, here we come. I am currently using a sample size of this most mornings. I am not always certain that I see a lot of difference when I use a primer. This one is as good as any I have tried so I’ll definitely use this sample.

Number 4™ Super Comb Prep & Protect – As self-confessed blow dryer addicts, we put our hair through a lot. To keep our strands from a meltdown, we use this leave-in conditioning mist. It doesn’t just protect hair from heat damage, it also doubles as a color protector and UV shield. The sulfate-free formula has a pretty floral scent thanks to white freesia, amber, and musk, and natural conditioners like black currant and soy yogurt restore hydration. I don’t like getting haircare products. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week and I let it air dry most of the time. I have no need for protection from heat.

Supergoop!® Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 – Part makeup setter, oil controller, and UV protector, this innovative three-in-one mist is your fresh-face secret. Its makeup-setting agent creates a sheer shield to lock in your look, while silica silylate reduces shine buildup leaving skin soft, smooth, and gorgeously matte. Plus, with SPF 50 and the uplifting scents of rosemary and mint, it also helps to improve your complexion and soothe inflammation. I am super excited to try this. I get shiny in the summer and this will be perfect for that. The sample is really small though so I don’t think I will get a lot of uses out of it.

ARROW BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm – Between running things at the office, running errands, and running at the gym, we usually find ourselves running low on time. Enter this high-tech lip balm. Formulated to adjust to your unique pH, it enhances natural lip color to create a just-for-you hue. Nourishing ingredients like mango seed butter hydrate and protect, and it has a lovely minty scent. Like all ARROW products, it’s vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. I’m sure that I will find a use for a lip balm.

JUARA Coconut Illipe Hand & Nail Balm – When it comes to nourishing our bodies, we have one mantra: the more natural, the better. That’s why we’re slathering on the good stuff with this rich hand balm inspired by traditional Indonesian healers. It’s packed with straight-from-the-earth ingredients including illipe butter and sea algae to firm and plump parched skin. A blend of coconut and other natural oils heal and hydrate for hands that are smooth, soft, and healthy as can be. I received a tube of their candlenut butter in a box a while back and I loved it. If this is as good as that was I am going to really like it.

I am pretty satisfied with my box this month. The only sample that I have no interest in is the hair product. I already know that I like the primer and I can always use a lip balm and hand cream. I am really looking forward to trying the Supergoop Setting Mist.
