I subscribe to several beauty subscription services but I am always most eager to see what comes in my Boxycharm. You can see why – November BoxyCharm, July Boxycharm, Boxycharm – August 2016, Boxycharm October 2016, Boxycharm November 2016, Boxycharm December 2016, Boxycharm January 2017 and Boxycharm February 2017. It is the most expensive subscription I have at $21 per month but I do an annual subscription that gets it down to $19.25 per month. The box includes 4-5 full-size and luxury-size samples each month. You can subscribe using my link and I will get credit to spend in their store. That link is here. I am pleased with this month’s box. Read on to see what I received.
For some reason, the theme this month is Creepy Cute. That just seems more like a Halloween them than a spring theme. Overall, I am pleased with this month’s box. Read on to see what I received.
Smashbox Photofinish Primer – This is the first product we created at Smashbox Photo Studios L.A. We developed it to help makeup look better and last longer on set. It’s still our bestselling product and the best way to start your makeup every day. It instantly blurs fine lines and pores, leaving skin with a velvety-smooth, even finish that’s perfect for makeup application. This is a very generous sample. I will get a lot of use out of this. I try to use a primer every day but I don’t know that I see a ton of benefit from it. I will use this though and am glad to get it. I have never been all that excited by Smashbox products but I have only tried a few.
Crown Brush Deluxe Fan Brush – This fan brush features a large, fanned brush head perfect for the soft application of powder products. This brush is also great for lightly dusting shimmer products onto skin. This is a super nice brush. It is thick, soft, and fluffy. But I just got a fan brush in Boxycharm January 2017 and I didn’t expect to get another one 2 months later. This one is much nicer, though.
Real Her Lip Liner – A creamy lip liner that glides across lips to define your pout. This looks like a nice lip liner and it is getting good reviews on the Boxycharm website. I just don’t use lip liner.
Real Her Matte Liquid Lipstick in Ladylove – Lightweight formula glides onto lips leaving super intense color with a bold, ultra-matte finish. Long wearing, and completely kiss proof, this bomb formulation helps to combat dryness and nourish your lips during wear. This is a very pretty nude shade. This formula is just too tacky for me. My lips stick together and the lipstick peels off some when I pull them apart. I’m not a fan.
Naked Cosmetics Urban Rustic Palette – These colors offer a dramatic look when applied damp or with an eye base. The colors have hints of green, bronze, purple, and brown. These are very pretty, shimmery shadows. This is not a stand alone palette by any means but it can be used with more neutral shades to make some good looks.
The eyeshadow palette is my favorite item in this box. I also love the fan brush. It is really soft and fluffy. I wanted to love the lipstick but I just don’t. I will use the Smashbox primer and may make myself use the lip liner. This is a decent box. Except for that awful lipstick.
Do you get Boxycharm? Did you get the same products that I did this month? What did you think of your box? If you don’t get a Boxycharm do you think this box is a good deal?
