Birchbox April 2017

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, haircare, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose to get the curated box. You can see what I typically get in my boxes here,  here,  here here, and here

This month is all about superstar ingredients that help you look and feel your best—inside and out. The theme is Inside Out and the box is plain on the outside with the print on the inside. Read on to see what I got in my box this month.

Bumble and bumble. Don’t Blow It – Fine – Let’s face it: Air-drying your hair is easy, but the results aren’t always pretty. This crème is changing the game with plant-based conditioners enhance volume and texture without any time under the blow dryer. Plus, UVA and UVB filters protect against harmful rays, so your hair stays soft and hydrated. Just smooth on post-shower for a lightweight finish—little to no effort required. I am super excited to try this!  I have only heard good things about the brand AND I air dry my hair every. single. day. This is perfect and the main reason I chose the curated box this month.

derma e® Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask – Sad fact: Each and every day, we collect and encounter toxins and micropollutants (uh…no thanks?). That’s why we choose this 2-in-1 purifying charcoal mask that exfoliates, detoxifies, and purges pores. Thanks to natural clays, apricot seed powder, and other nutrient-rich ingredients, you’ll be left with glowing, whistle-clean skin after just five minutes. I am a mask addict as you can see herehere, and here. I am always happy to get a mask and this sounds like it could be a good summer mask.

Tocca Emelia Eau de Parfum – Inspired by a free-spirited adventuress, this vibrant scent is sure to bring out your inner explorer (whether that means traveling the globe or just hitting a shindig across town). Equal parts zesty and bohemian, the refreshing blend offers fruity layers of clementine, fig and coconut water, backed by warm florals like magnolia and geranium. The result? A fragrance that’s vivacious, inviting, and incredibly fresh. This is the only item on the curated box that I am not excited about. I just don’t wear perfume. It does smell nice though.

Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Double the Lip in Dusty Rose – If you want a bigger, voluptuous pout without using multiple products, this two-in-one lip liner and lipstick is for you. The custom teardrop tip features liner at the top and long-wearing, vibrant lipstick at the bottom, giving you double the lip with just one swipe. What’s more, it also takes the guesswork out of trying to pair your lipstick with the right liner shade. Lips look visibly fuller and amazingly colorful, so when someone asks, you can happily answer, “Yes, they’re real.” This looks to be a decent color for me and I love trying new lip products.

Vasanti BrightenUp! New Skin Amplifying Moisturizer – Give your skin a dose of hydration and instantly illuminate your complexion with this refreshing moisturizer. Formulated to amplify the benefits of Vasanti’s best-selling BrightenUp!® Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator, it’s the perfect companion to your favorite exfoliator and integrates seamlessly into your daily skincare routine. Ingredients like aloe vera, avocado oil, vitamin E, sea algae extract, and more nourish skin, provide all day, non-greasy moisture, and even out tone and texture to reveal a smoother, radiant complexion. With continued use, brighter days and brighter skin are certainly in your future. I will certainly try this. I am into skincare and love trying new products.

Since I chose this box based on knowing what was in it, I am pleased with it. The perfume is the only thing I know I won’t use. It was enough to almost make me go with products based on my profile. But I am glad I went wth the curated box this month.
