You can buy Freeman masks at Walmart and Walgreens for around $5 for a 6 oz tube. They come in a ton of varieties and, of course, I have several! On the tube, it says that it is good for all skin types and clears pores and smooths skin.
From the Freeman website:

Lavender and Bergamot help achieve an aroma-therapeutic bliss to rinse away stress for smooth and radiant skin. Perfect for all skin types.

I was unimpressed with the Freeman Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress Mask from the moment I squeezed it out of the tube. It was a bright turquoise color that I would not expect to find in a skincare product. And the scent was a sickly sweet fake scent. I did not care for it at all. My sensory experience did not improve when I applied the mask. It was not as smooth as the typical clay mask. It had a more jelly-like consistency that did not spread as smoothly as clay based masks typically do.
After application, I did feel some cooling sensation but no burning or tingling. The mask didn’t dry too tight or hard but it did have some tightening sensation. It rinsed off easily and cleanly. My face felt smooth afterward but I didn’t see any difference in my pores.
I don’t love this mask. I honestly don’t even like it that much. That fake, sweet, chemical smell is just bad. The consistency is weird for a clay mask. There are plenty of masks that smell better, feel better, and work better than this one. This is the first Freeman mask that I have not liked. I won’t repurchase and may not even use it again.
I have used this s few more times since I originally wrote this post and I have had something of a change of heart. I still don’t love it and the scent bothers me but I like it better. It really does leave my skin soft and that lasts until the day after use. I probably won’t buy this one again but I think I will keep it and use it up.
The lesson learned from this is that first impressions may not represent how you really feel. I’m glad I tried this again. Although to be honest it was only because I was tired on mask night and this mask was still lying at hand. It was easy just to use it again. And 1 more time. Maybe it is time to just put it away with my other masks now that it looks like I’m keeping it.
Have you tried the Freeman Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress Mask? Did you like it? What is your favorite Freeman mask? Favorite clay based mask?
