Boxycharm April 2017

I subscribe to several beauty subscription services but I am always most eager to see what comes in my Boxycharm. You can see why – Boxycharm – August 2016,  Boxycharm October 2016,  Boxycharm November 2016,  Boxycharm December 2016,  Boxycharm January 2017,  Boxycharm February 2017  and  Boxycharm March 2017.  It is the most expensive subscription I have at $21 per month but I do an annual subscription that gets it down to $19.25 per month. The box includes 4-5 full-size and luxury-size samples each month. You can subscribe using my link and I will get credit to spend in their store. That link is here.

I am not excited about this month’s box at all. I am rarely disappointed by Boxycharm but this box did disappoint. The theme this month is BoHo Glam. Read on to see what I received.

Ofra Rodeo Drive Highlighter – Soak up the summer sun day or night, with Ofra’s Rodeo Drive Highlighter! This radiant new product captures the luxury and glamour at the famous street in sunny California. This is a full-size product with a retail price of $35. It is a very, very intense highlighter with glitter in it. The glitter isn’t chunky but you can see it. This is not an everyday highlighter.

Blend Squad: 3-Piece Contour Blending Sponges –  Set of 3 latex-free and non-allergenic blending sponges. Can be used damp or dry. It’s washable, reusable, and odor-free. The retail price for these is $36. I am looking forward to trying these out. My Beauty Blender has already seen its better days. I did get to try these out and they are not the same texture as a Beauty Blender at all. They are much firmer but they do expand when you wet them. I will have to use it more to get a better idea of how I feel about it.

Measurable Difference Concealer Palette – Featuring 16 versatile shades, this makeup set works for any skin tone. The creamy, blendable formula melts perfectly into the skin, making any blemish or skin flaw disappear. The retail price on this is $19.99. I am not excited about this because so many of the shades will be wasted. I will never have any use for the darker ones. Plus, I always am suspicious of the texture of concealers that are in this format. I prefer a squeeze tube for concealer. The texture is very slick and plastic feeling. I couldn’t blend at all with my fingers but it did ago with a sponge. This is not a good concealer at all.

Cargo Lipgloss in Taos – Super high shine lipgloss delivers intense, lasting color! Creamy, moisturizing formula glides over lips, never feels sticky. Retail on this is $16. I’m not a fan of lipgloss but I will try it as a lipstick topper. It is a nice beige nude shade.

Hairgurt by Project  Beauty Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt Shampoo – Wondering when your hair got a mind of its own? Try this creamy, rich shampoo with Yogurt, Prebiotics, Quinoa, 6 Botanical Oils and Bio-Keratin to help tame frizzy dry hair. Free of sulfates, parabens, harsh salt systems, harmful colors, and harmful fragrances. This full-size shampoo retails for $10. And it sounds amazing. But I received the conditioning mask in a past Boxycharm that was awful. It did not leave my hair feeling conditioned at all. I am not expecting much from this shampoo.

This month’s Boxycharm was a big letdown. There isn’t 1 single product that I love or will get a lot of use from. This is unusual for Boxycharm so I will just have to hope that May is better.

Do you get Boxycharm? What did you think of it? Have you tried any of the products I received? Do you like them?

  1. Ooooh, latex-free blending sponges! Nice!

On our side of the pond almost all the blending sponges and make-up wedges are latex ones.

I have found latex-free make-up wedges but they cost 8 times as much as regular make-up wedges with latex. However, I have to say that the latex-free make-up wedges are of much better quality which is nice!
