I received a single use of this in Walmart Spring 2017 Beauty Box Trendsetter along with a $1 off coupon. I was not expecting much based on my past experiences with Rimmel foundations. I bought into the YouTube hype around the Lasting Perfection foundation. I used it and was not impressed. I also tried the Matte BB Cream and did not like it either.
This foundation promises to be A feather light, oil free formula with an airy mousse texture that won’t feel heavy or greasy. Delivers all day shine control and blends flawlessly for a natural looking matte finish. Minimizes the appearance of pores. The weight is over – finally, shine has met its matte.
Before applying the foundation I put on my Vitamin C serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. I used Smashbox primer spray because I try to use primer every day. This is a thicker mousse foundation but it applies smoothly with a beauty blender. It worked well with my sunscreen with no pilling.
It provided a medium coverage that seemed to be buildable. My other makeup applied over it nicely and it left a flawless matte finish. It felt lightweight on my skin. It made my pores a little less noticeable. I did set it with Coty Airspun Loose Powder which was one of my 2016 Favorites. You can see how matte it looks in the picture above.
It is also a long lasting foundation that stayed matte until I took it off 8 hours after applying it. It stayed put all day and did not settle into my fine lines. I was happy with the wear time and how well it held up. The picture below is after 5 hours of wear. I didn’t take one when I took it off after 8 hours but it still looked really good.

I really, really liked this foundation. The finish was amazing and it lasted all day. It was matte and did not settle into any fine lines. It stayed true to color and didn’t oxidize on my skin. As if all that wasn’t enough of a selling point, you can buy it for less than $5 at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Walmart. I will be buying this soon. I used the $1 off coupon that came with the sample to buy a full-size of this foundation. It was $4.97 at Walmart and I got it for $3.97 with my coupon. What a bargain!
Have you tried this foundation? Did you love it too? Do you like the other Rimmel foundations?

I tried this from a sample too and I really liked it – it surprised me how easy it was to blend and didn’t cling to dry patches, and felt so lightweight. I haven’t bought the full size but I’m considering it.

It is so cheap that you wouldn’t expect it to be as good as it is. Looks like it will be my go-to this summer to keep the shine in control.

I would love to love Rimmel foundations, but Rimmel’s lightest shades are too dark for me… but I’m glad to hear you like this one!

I actually use a Beige shade in Rimmel that is not the lightest shade. I am pretty fair but the shade 200 Soft Beige works really well on my face.
