Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Review

Dream Liquid® Mousse full coverage foundation delivers the look of completely poreless skin. Achieve the look of completely poreless skin with a smooth airbrushed finish. Lightweight and breathable, this up to 16-hour liquid foundation delivers cake-free, full coverage that moisturizes all day.

I found this foundation at a Big Lots store for $1.50. I bought it on a whim because it was so cheap and the shade looked like it might work. It sells for between $7 and $9 depending on where you buy it. I got it in the Shade Classic Ivory and it is a good match for me. It does not run pink at all. I have yellow undertones and have to have yellow toned shades. My skin is normal but can get shiny by the end of the day.

Yes, I am brave enough (or stupid enough) to post my bare face. This is with my moisturizer and sunscreen applied.

I applied this foundation over my Vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I did not use a primer this time but I do occasionally. I applied 2 pumps to my face with a dampened Beauty Blender. After blending that in I applied 1 more pump and set it with Coty Airspun loose powder after concealer. It is the best setting powder ever and I included it in 2016 Favorites.

After applying foundation

It blends easily and provides medium coverage. It doesn’t look heavy or cakey and works well with my sunscreen. I am currently using Nivea Sun Protect Super Water Gel SPF 50/PA+++ and it is a good sunscreen. But I digress. This foundation really does help minimize my pores. It doesn’t sink into them it just blurs them some.

The finished look

My other makeup goes on well over the foundation. There is no streaking or caking. It has a semi-matte finish on me and it does have an airbrushed look. I really like the coverage and the finish so much more than I ever expected to. A long time ago I tried the whipped cream version of this and I liked it as well. I have never been a big fan of Maybelline foundation but this is amazing.

This one has exceeded expectations and I really like it. It has excellent coverage and it lasts all day for me. It really does make my pores less noticeable and makes my skin look smoother overall. The shade is a good match for me in tone. I really see no cons with this foundation. I think it is one of the drugstore’s hidden gems.

Have you tried this foundation? How did it work for you? What is your favorite drugstore foundation?
