I got this at Christmas during some sale or other. As soon as I saw that it was a mask, with roses in it, from the Body Shop I knew I needed to try it. It is kind of pricey at $28 for a 0.17 oz tub of product. It comes in a black glass jar with a screw off lid.
From Ulta’s website: Grow your glow with our British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask. Inspired by the European bathing rituals, our 100% vegan refreshing gel face mask is infused with real rose petals, rose essence, rosehip oil and organic Community Trade aloe vera. And what’s more, it’s formulated without parabens, paraffin, silicone or mineral oil. Reveal skin that’s replenished with moisture and visibly smooth with a youthful dewy appearance.
Remove your make-up and cleanse your skin. Next, smooth an even layer of the face mask onto the face using The Body Shop Facial Mask Brush or fingers being careful to avoid the eye and lip area. Apply to neck and décolleté if desired. Leave for 5-10 minutes. Finish by rinsing off with warm water in circular motions to gently exfoliate. For best results use two to three times a week.
Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Propanediol, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-32, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Alcohol Denat, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Rosa Gallica Flower Powder, Parfum/Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxide, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Methylpropanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Disodium EDTA, Rose Extract, Benzyl Salicylate, Menthoxypropanediol, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, CI 14700/Red 4.
This mask looks like jelly with bits of fruit in it. It is thinner than honey but the color and consistency remind me of honey. It has a fairly strong scent that doesn’t smell like roses at all. That part is very disappointing. I love the scent of roses and I was expecting it in British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask. It is hard to describe the scent. It is floral but it isn’t super sweet. It lingered so if you are bothered by scents you might not like it.
I applied it with my e.l.f. mask tool the first time I used it and my fingers the 2nd time. As you can see below it is a thin jelly-like consistency with bits of something in it. I guess it must be rose petals based on the description.
The mask did not burn or sting at all. It felt a bit cooling when first applied. It was thick enough to stay on my face without dripping. After 15 minutes I massaged it into my face and rinsed it off.
My skin immediately looked plumper and felt so soft and smooth. It looked brighter too. I am not used to seeing such obvious benefits after using a mask. I am happy if a mask leaves my face hydrated. That is all I ask from a mask and anything else is a bonus. This is easily one of my favorite masks. It hydrates, and plumps, and brightens so well that it is noticeable. It is pricey and that is a drawback. I will have to watch for sales.
Have you tried this mask? Did you like it? Have you tried other Body Shop masks? Are they good? Do you have other rose masks to recommend to me?
