This is a series that I do to showcase products I am giving away for some reason or another. You can see past posts in this series here, here, here, and here. I had originally planned to do these quarterly but I just accumulate products too quickly. These are products that I am giving away for a variety of reasons. Some of them honestly don’t work for my skin. Others are the wrong shade. Some I hated the formula. Sometimes I have duplicates of a product and won’t be able to use both.
The bulk of the products in this post came from Birchbox February 2017. My box did not arrive by the end of the month so they sent a replacement box. Before it even got here I got the first one. I ended up with 2 boxes and was not that impressed with a few of those samples anyway. Let’s see what products have recently failed for me.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré (24-Hour Miracle Cream) – Take a peek in any makeup artist’s kit and you’ll spy a well-loved tube of Embryolisse’s cult Lait-Crème Concentre. This velvety, quick-absorbing moisturizer gives skin the ultimate silky finish, thanks to generous amounts of soothing shea butter and aloe vera. Plus, it doubles as a makeup remover, post-shave soother, and all-over body lotion. Who says beauty isn’t practical? This is something that I will try but I don’t need 2 of them. My mother will probably like this.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lip Locked in Sienna – On busy mornings (aka almost every morning), we prefer a routine that’s as brief and streamlined as humanly possible. This triple-threat lip treatment from Manna Kadar eliminates the need to use multiple products, since it’s a primer, stain, and gloss in one. The paraben-free formula—rich in vitamins A and E to keep lips soft—delivers a long-lasting, vibrant hue that will easily take you from a.m. to p.m. This is my 2nd lip product from this line and I’m a fan! This is a great shade as well. I gave my mom one of these to try since I have so many lip products that I will never finish 2 of these no matter how much I like it.
R+Co Outer Space Flexible Hairspray – Set your style—without getting stuck with the same look all day—with this versatile spritz. It’s what stylists call a “working spray”—meaning it adds hold to your ‘do, but still easily restyles to let you lock in your next look too. It’s made with styling polymers for flexible hold and pro-vitamin B5 to condition hair and add volume. You can spritz it on frequently without any buildup—so you can switch up your look as often as you’d like. I never use hairspray so I will pass this on to someone who does. I don’t use hairspray. Ever. And I got 1 in each of my Birchboxes. I am giving both of these away.
Obliphica Professional Seaberry Mask – Medium to Coarse – Conditioning products don’t need to be heavy to transform locks. Just take this antioxidant-rich seaberry mask, for instance. The superfruit-infused treatment is a powerful hydrator, nourishing and moisturizing from scalp to ends and leaving hair softer, shinier, and smoother. You’ll love it so much that you’ll want to use it every day—and thanks to its lightweight formula, you can. I got 2 of these from the Birchbox as well. I use hair masks but I just started a new full sized one and this will have to wait. So I am keeping one for myself and giving one to my mom.
Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials Antiperspirant – There’s nothing quite like that just-showered feeling. That fresh, clean sensation is the absolute best way to start the day, so wouldn’t it be great if you could get it in a handy antiperspirant deodorant? Well, luckily for you, that’s exactly what we’ve done with Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials Antiperspirant . Its invigorating scent of cucumber and green tea will put an extra spring in your step, and with 48 hours of antiperspirant protection, you can keep that cool, fresh feeling with you all day thanks to one of our most effective antiperspirant deodorant products. I love Dove deodorant and use it in the winter to keep my underarms from drying out. I hate the small size of this so I’m going to give it to my mom.
Retino 0.025% Cream USP Tretinoin – I ordered this strength when my face was not dealing well with a higher strength Tretinion. Even before this arrived I had made changes to address the flakiness. I will give this to my mom so she can try Tretinoin (Retin A).
Have you tried any of the products I am passing on? Do you like them? What do you do with beauty products that don’t work for you/
