Birchbox June 2017

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, haircare, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose the box based on my profile. You can see what I typically get in my boxes here,  here,  here,  here, and here.  If you would like to try Birchbox you can join here. That is my personal link and I will get points.

The theme for June is Face the Day. Embrace warm weather by stripping layers off your routine so you can face whatever comes your way. Keep reading to see what was in my box this month.

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator – Don’t let fine lines, acne marks, or redness get you down. Brighten up your day and your skin with this powerful exfoliator. Papaya enzymes work to break down dead cells and even out skin tone while dermatologist-approved microderm crystals fade fine lines and acne scars. Finally, aloe vera, coconut, and vitamins B and E nourish freshly exfoliated skin to keep it free from redness or irritation, making it look like you just got a facial. I use a scrub 2-3 mornings a week so I will definitely use this when I finish what I currently have in my shower.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II  –For decades, this iconic brown bottle has given a whole new meaning to the term “beauty sleep.” The oil-free serum features over 25 patents worldwide and harnesses the power of your skin’s nighttime renewal process to increase cell production and give you smoother skin by morning. Developed with the brand’s exclusive ChronoluxTB™ Technology and vital levels of moisture magnet hyaluronic acid, it addresses fine lines, dryness, and lack of radiance, while also diminishing dark spots (acne scars included). Every product you put on afterward applies so effortlessly that you can even use it in the a.m. before moisturizer for a perfect canvas pre-makeup. I love a good serum so I am pleased to get this. I have an open serum so it will be a while before I get to it.

Oribe Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo – Everything old is new again—including the ingredients in Oribe’s Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo. The formula blends centuries-old healing oils and extracts with modern technology to rejuvenate and strengthen damaged locks from the inside out. Every wash revitalizes tired hair, returning it to a healthier, younger state, and simultaneously shields tresses from future damage. This is a foil packet sample that has 2-3 uses in it. I have never found Oribe products to be worth the crazy price they tend to be. An 8.5 oz bottle of this sells for $49! I cannot imagine what it can do that is worth that much for a small bottle.

Oribe Gold Lust Repair & Restore Conditioner – This conditioner combines time-honored healing oils and extracts with modern technology to rejuvenate and protect tired, damaged hair. The ultrahydrating formula reverses damage (all of that styling and sunning was bound to catch up with us) leaving behind a softer, more glossy mane. This is also a foil packet. I will try it too.

The Beauty Crop Blush Duo – Why not be a cream queen one day and a powder player the next? With this blush compact featuring both textures in complementary coral and peach shades, you’ll have double the options for coloring your cheeks. The formulas nourish with everyone’s favorite smoothie ingredients—kale, aronia berry, pomegranate, and papaya—but don’t contain any fragrance or mineral oil. Mix together or apply separately to achieve your ideal amount of pigmentation and radiance. I have tried the powder blush and I liked it a lot. I don’t use cream blush much but I will try this. I am not fond of small packages that have cream and powder because it is hard to keep the powder out of the cream.

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 – We’re always skeptical when products promise the sun and the moon, but Dr. Jart+’s Premium Beauty Balm truly delivers. A four-in-one primer, moisturizer, sunscreen, and treatment serum, the formula helps you cut down on the grooming clutter. This tinted balm uses adenosine to improve skin’s elasticity and arbutin to brighten and even out skin tone. An antioxidant bio-peptide complex provides anti-aging properties and promotes collagen production, while titanium dioxide and zinc oxide add broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. I am always happy to get BB cream samples. These are great to take on vacation. They have all I need to do a light layer and still look good. This will be going to the beach with me next week.

Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Lip Paint in Tehran – The perfect canvas for this velvety lip paint? Your lips, of course. The ultracreamy liquid lipstick provides high-pigmented color that feels light and comfortable. The vegan and cruelty-free formula applies wet but settles to a non-drying matte finish, which stays in place for a smooth, vibrant pucker that lasts for hours. This is a soft, nude brown shade that is a My Lips But Better shade. I like the shade and the formula. I received a Mellow Cosmetics lipstick in Ipsy Bag May 2017 and liked it enough to include it in Best of the Boxes May 2017.

I am pretty satisfied with my Birchbox this month. I like the Lip Paint very much. I am looking forward to using all the other samples. I give this month a 5/5. Good job, Birchbox!

    1. I like the powder blush but haven’t tried the cream one yet. I struggle with applying a cream blush so I will need to play with this on a non-work day.
