Allure is a monthly beauty subscription. It costs $15 a month and will have 5 sample or deluxe samples each month. This is a new subscription box for me and I don’t know what I think of it yet. See what came in my first box in June here. Read on to see what I got this month.

Feel Brilliant Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask – Of all the so-called “detoxifying” ingredients out there, the one we are most excited about is charcoal. It’s “absorbent enough to pull all the gunk you don’t want, like pollution and dirt, out of pores,” says cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson. But (and there’s always a but) here’s the thing: Charcoal needs a little bit of time to do its best work. That’s why sheet masks are an ideal way to get it in contact with your skin. This one is also saturated with hyaluronic acid, so it doesn’t leave your face feeling tight and dry. Yippee! A mask! I love masks. A 4 pack of these masks sell for $35 so it certainly should be good.

Beauty for Real Lip Revival Sugar Scrub – This hydrating sugar lip scrub has plant oils and raw sugar to exfoliate with orange, vanilla, and cinnamon bark essential oils to hydrate and protect lips. Clients who use matte lipstick swear by this product to eliminate dried out lips, reviving them to full pouty softness. This is the #1 best-selling lip scrub on Amazon.com. This sounds wonderful! I can’t wait to try it. The price on the website is $14 and this looks like a full-size product.

Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection & Heat Protectant Crème – Protects against heat damage up to 425°F, smooths hair and tames frizz, enhances shine and softness. I almost never blow dry my hair so I’m not excited about this one.

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali – Cheek color won’t streak or fade; it’s sweat-proof and weatherproof! Silky powder formula glides over the skin for a subtle wash of color. The sheer powder is buildable for a customized look. This is a beautiful shade. The formula is nice, not chalky or dry. It is not highly pigmented but can be built up. The full size is $26. This is a generous sample size that will last a while. I’m going to the beach next week and this will go with me to test out the waterproof claim.

Wander Beauty Lipstick in Barely There – Enriched with eight lip-loving ingredients, these lipsticks provide instant and continuous hydration and nourishment. This is a really pretty shade as well. It is a rosy nude shade that will work on lots of different skin tones. This is a decent sized sample that I will get many uses from.

Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial Oil – Introducing a concentrated blend of Rosehip, Jojoba and Evening Primrose that works like a serum to give skin a naturally powerful dose of essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. In just one use, this anti-aging powerhouse leaves skin hydrated, smooth, and rejuvenated. When used over time, Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial oil has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I have been looking for a facial oil to use at night and this one sounds like it has ingredients that I look for in skincare products. I will have to wait until it is cooler to try it though. It is for normal to dry skin. In the summer my skin tends more toward combo with oily shine. This is a good sized sample that will allow me to use it enough to develop a good idea of how it works for me. It is also reasonably priced at $20 for what looks like an ounce.

Redken Fashion Wave 07 Sea Salt Spray – This sea salt hair spray adds instant texture, creating a tousled beachy look. Creates tousled texture. Provides lightweight body and movement. A matte finish helps achieve a classic beach wave look. I have too many sea salt sprays already. I use it sometimes so eventually I will try this. I’m just not excited to get hair care products.

I have to say that I am pleased with my July Allure box. I am happy with every product except the 2 hair products. I just don’t do much to my hair so I don’t need products. I am looking forward to using all the skin products. I will have to wait a few months to try the facial oil but I will try everything else in the next week or so.
