I received a sample of each of L’Oreal’s 3 new clay masks in the Target Beauty Box February 2017. I waited to try them until the weather got warmer. I try to use hydrating and nourishing masks in the winter. Now that warm weather is here I need to use masks that unclog my pores and improve my skin texture. I also want to address the shine I have every afternoon.
For reference, I have normal skin that tends to get shiny by the end of the day in warm weather. My skin is not overly sensitive and I almost never have a reaction to skincare products. My skin concerns are anti-aging, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores around my nose, and hyperpigmentation.

This clay mask is a mousse-like texture with fine grained exfoliators in it. It has a fresh, light smell that does linger. I cleansed and toned my face before application. It applied smoothly and evenly to my face. It did burn and sting for several minutes following application. That did not last and it was fine after that stopped.
I left it on longer than 10-15 minutes but not much longer. I was feeding my furry critters while it did its work. It did not feel tight when it dried. I added some water and massaged it into my skin to take advantage of the exfoliation. It was a mild exfoliator that did not feel rough on my skin. It rinsed off cleanly and did not leave anything on my face.
My face felt clean and soft after use and my pores may have looked some better. I have yet to use any product that made a significant difference to my pores. My skin did not feel dry or tight after rinsing it off. There was no redness either. With the burning and stinging when I first applied it I would not have been surprised if it had been.
Overall, I liked this mask and the price is reasonable. You can buy it at Ulta and drugstores for less than $15 for a 1.7 oz. jar. You don’t need much so a jar would last a while. I will get 2-3 uses out of the little sample that I have. If you are looking for an exfoliating mask this is a good one to try if you don’t have sensitive skin. If you do have sensitive skin the burning and stinging may be too much for you.
Have you tried this mask? What did you think of it? have you tried the other masks in this line? Which do you like best?
