Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that is $10 per month. It contains 5 sample, deluxe sample, or a rare full sized product in each bag. It tends to contain more makeup products and tools. You can see what I have received in past bags here, here, here , here and here
The theme for this bag is Over Easy. Our ultra chill (and super adorbs) mascot, Gudetama, makes its modeling debut on your July Glam Bag—perf for stashing all your #ipsyovereasy essentials. FYI Gudetama was created by a Japanese company that creates images and licenses them. This is the same company that created Hello Kitty. Apparently, Gudetama is wildly popular in Japan. So, let’s explore my July Ipsy bag.
IBY Beauty Crease Brush – Wanna step up your shadow game ASAP?! You’ll need the right tools. Thankfully, this blending master picks up what you’re putting down, flawlessly. (No fallout here thankyouverymuch.) Thanks to the dense, domed shape, this is THE brush you need to blend out your darker shadow shades and create fierce definition. It’s furry friendly! The super soft, synthetic bristles are 100% vegan. Although I already have a favorite crease brush I am always happy to try a new one. Who knows? I may like it better. It sells for $12 on the IBY website.
Ciaté London Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black – Black liners are a dime a dozen, but we’ve never seen one like this. TBH, this *wonderwand* is giving us maj Wonder Woman vibes. (Like the kind of wonder woman who can create an amazing cat eye and make it look effortless.) You can literally create ANY eye look (from slept in and smudgy to razor sharp flicks) with this magic wand. It’s double-ended with a rich, inky black kohl formula on one side and a blending/smudging brush on the other. I prefer liquid eyeliners but I will definitely try this out. That is why I subscribe to Ipsy – to try things I would not ever buy on my own. It is $18 on the Ciaté London website. I can’t imagine paying $18 for a gel liner when I can get my beloved Stila Stay All Day for $21.
tarte cosmetics Rainforest of the Sea™ deep dive cleansing gel – Dissolve waterproof makeup with this hypoallergenic, non-drying cleanser that’s ideal for daily use. Seafood? It’s vegan, so antioxidant marine ingredients like algae and marine flower extract are the only food we see! (It’s food for your skin. Don’t eat this gel, even though it smells amazing.) Turn your medicine cabinet into a mermaid’s treasure trove with the irresistible under-the-sea packaging. I specifically requested this product in my bag this month. I have managed to stumble on lists of samples you can choose from each month. I’ll tell you more about that later. I enjoy trying new skincare and this sounds like it might be a good cleanser. The sample is 7.5 ml and a 150 ml bottle will run you $25 on the tarte website.
mPrincess Pressed Eyeshadow in Biscuit – Hello, most perfect neutral shadow EVER! This pretty, pearly, wear-anywhere shade looks gorg on its own but also makes a badass base to transform any shadow into a more dramatic finish. The super soft, velvety formula goes on ohhhh-so smooth. Consider it the girl boss of blendable shadows! Never fear the fallout. This pressed powder formula won’t mess up your makeup and stays exactly where you want it. I have hit pan on my Wet n Wild Brulee eyeshadow. This looks like it could work as well as the Brulee. This is $15.45 on the website but I can’t find the size anywhere. The Ipsy sample is 1.7 g.
Hempz Ultra Moisturizing Herbal Lip Balm – We’re 100% on board with the beauty benefits of hemp, and we’re not afraid to admit we’re totes addicted to this (totally legal) lip balm. The super silky blend of hemp seed oil, shea butter, and avocado oil soaks into dry, chapped lips, leaving them ultra-smooth and smoochable for hours. I have a Hempz balm in a tube and I like it a lot. I’m looking forward to trying this. This is a full-size product that is $9 at Ulta.
August sample choice products are:
- Steve Laurant Precision Tip Liner in Black
- MAKE UP FOR EVER EXCESSIVE LASH Arresting Volume Mascara
- SLMissGlam T35 Precise Blending Brush
- First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay
- Vitamasques Yogurt Masks Duo Pack
All you do is email your request to support@ipsy.com. I have done this the past 2 months and have received the sample I requested. I also list a backup choice just in case. This month I requested the Yogurt Masks with the First Aid Beauty Cleanser being my alternate choice.
This month I certainly got my money’s worth. The crease brush, lip balm, eyeshadow, and eyeliner were all equal or more than the monthly cost of the bag individually. There is nothing this month that I know I won’t like. This month would be a 5/5 because there are no duds. The problem is that the bag smells terrible. It has an acrid chemical, plastic scent that is strong and overpowering. It made my throat and nose burn. It is a cute bag but it smells toxic.
Do you subscribe to Ipsy? What did you get this month? Were you happy with it? If you want to try it out I would appreciate your using my link. I get points if you do. I have had my subscription for about 2 years and I think it is a pretty good deal overall. I like a lot of what I receive and love getting to try new things.
If you enjoyed this post please “like” it and follow me to make sure you don’t miss any posts. Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate that you took the time to check out my blog.
Thanks for sharing. I miss my ipsy bag sometimes but I spent more time decluttering the items after awhile

I hear you. I have so many sample sizes and they take up a lot of space after a while. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
