Birchbox July 2017

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, haircare, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose the box based on my profile. You can see what I typically get in my boxes here,  here,  here, here and here.  If you would like to try Birchbox you can join here. That is my personal link and I will get points.

The theme for July is One – Two – Punch. Use these one-two-and-done combos to get you out the door this summer. Read on to see what came in my box this month.

Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel – Perk up and protect with this lightweight gel moisturizer. With green tea, cucumber extracts, and vitamins C and E, it nourishes and hydrates skin while guarding against pollutants and stressors. The formula glides on with a cooling sensation, soothing skin as it gets to work. This sounds like the perfect summer moisturizer or me. I am looking forward to trying this. I may take this to the beach with me.

PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Touchable Curl Cream – Curls gone wild? Add some definition and control to your hair with this amazing curl cream. It will help maintain and create soft curls that look au natural. This innovative formula from PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain combines the silky texture of a serum with the light hold of a cream so it won’t weigh down your locks. I have curl in my hair so this will be perfect.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser – The best products are those that simply get the job done. This mild face wash does just that by thoroughly cleansing skin without stripping it of moisture or natural oils. Vitamin-rich apricot kernel and avocado oils hydrate and smooth skin while squalane, a signature Kiehl’s ingredient, restores natural moisture balance, leaving skin clean, calm and refreshed. Kiehl’s is one of those brands that I have always wanted to try but haven’t yet. I may wait until fall to try this since I am shiny in the warm weather.

LOC Double Take Eyeliner – Go from day to night without any worries about smudging or fading with our new LOC (a Birchbox brand!) eyeliner. Just like our LOC shadow sticks, this pencil comes in a compact, easy-to-tote size and glides on for precision lining (you can also smudge it out for a softer, more dramatic look). And while it’s the perfect purse companion, no need to plan on pulling it out of your bag too often—this long-wearing liner lasts up to 11 straight hours. I’m not thrilled by pencil or gel eyeliners but I will try it out. I have an LOC lip pencil and it’s ok.

Beautaniq Beauty Blush Serum – Less like makeup and more like tinted skincare, this serum blush infused with apricot seed oil and vitamin E adds a flush of color to your cheeks while hydrating and repairing skin. As soon as you apply the creamy formula, it melts on contact without streaking or feeling greasy. The pigment wears for hours and looks enviously effortless, so much so that people might think you’re just naturally blushing. This sounds nice but I struggle to apply cream blush. I feel like I tend to get it all over my cheek. Still, I will try this out.

This is a decent box this month. I am very excited about the gel moisturizer and the Kiehl’s cleanser. I can use the moisturizer now and the cleanser sounds perfect for cooler weather. I have curly hair and I could love the Curl Cream. I am not terribly thrilled about the blush and eyeliner but you never know.  I would rate this month’s box 3.5/5. Overall, I am happy with it.
