Allure Beauty Box August 2017

Allure is a monthly beauty subscription. It costs $15 a month and will have 5 sample or deluxe samples each month. This is a new subscription box for me and I don’t know what I think of it yet. This is just my 3rd box. See what came in my first 2 boxes here and here. Read on to see what I got this month.

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask – The Instant Detox Mask purifies stressed city dwelling skin.  It’s 99.3% natural clay formula draws out impurities and toxins. Skin texture is left refined, pores are tightened, the complexion is even.  Lightly fragranced with soothing botanicals combining lavender, parsley & chamomile.  A 75 ml tube sells for $39 on the Caudalie website. I love a mask and I look forward to trying this one. I have heard a lot about the brand Caudalie and this is my first chance to try something from them.

Rodial Smokey Eye Pen in Black – Create a bold eye with this kohl eyeliner. With super-rich pigment and gel-effect definition, this long-lasting soft formula can be easily blended to create a dramatic smokey eye. A full size of this is $21 on the Rodial website. I use liquid eyeliner so I doubt I will even try this.

Hey Honey I Peel Good! Biomimetic Peel Cream – An innovative biomimetic* honey peel cream treatment. The all-natural, rich, deep-cleansing formula purifies and resurfaces your skin to reveal a smooth, radiant texture. The innovative process provides moisture retention and enhanced elasticity without AHA’s. This is $65 for a 1 oz. bottle on the Hey Honey website. Even if I like it I doubt I would buy it. Still, this is the sample that I am most excited about. I have used Hey Honey products before, Month of Asian Skincare, and am a fan of the brand.

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster – Just like the body needs vitamins to be healthy, skin needs minerals to strengthen its moisture barrier. Introducing a new generation moisturizer, combining 89% Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water rich in 15 minerals and Hyaluronic Acid. Boosts your skin’s resistance to elements like pollution, stress, and fatigue.  Boosts your skin’s level of hyaluronic acid • Boosts your skin’s moisture and strength.  Provides 24-hour hydration Lightweight moisturizer, absorbs quickly into skin leaving it feeling comfortable, softer, and hydrated. PURE & CLEAN FORMULA • 100% Paraben-free. Non-greasy. Non-sticky. Non-shiny. Oil-free. Fragrance-free. Silicone free. Colorant free. Alcohol-free. Allergy tested. Tested on sensitive skin. Tested under dermatological control for safety. For all skin types. Clinical study on 52 women aged from 26 to 62, using Mineral 89 twice a day over a 4-week period: • 81% agreed skin immediately felt healthier In 28 days: • 94% agreed skin seemed more luminous • 83% agreed skin seemed re-plumped • 75% agreed skin seemed more toned. On Amazon a 1.69 fl. oz. bottle is $29.50.  It sounds amazing if it does what it promises to. I will certainly try it out.

Skinfix Facial Cleansing Clothsthese soft cloths gently remove traces of makeup, dirt, and impurities – even waterproof mascara! Whether you’re at home or always on-the-go, our natural clothes won’t dry out and leave skin feeling clean and hydrated with no rinsing required. These sulfate and oil-free clothes are formulated with Aloe Vera, which helps repair collagen and elastin and Red Seaweed Extract, which helps to create a plump appearance and a healthy, dewy complexion. An environmentally friendly choice, these wipes are FSC Certified. The Skinfix website has a box of 20 for $9.99. I don’t use makeup remover clothes except to occasionally remove stubborn lip products. These will probably be given away.

Ouai Finishing Crème – Like lotion for your hair! This lightweight crème protects from heat styling, smoothes dry ends, and gives fine-medium hair that lived-in look with a light-reflective shine. A 3.4 fl oz. tube is $24 on the Ouai website. I only heat style my hair about 10ish times per year so this is not something that I really need. It may also end up being given away.

This box is pretty good. I am super excited to try all the skincare products. I probably won’t use the makeup remover cloths, eye liner, or hair product. The saving grace for this box is that the mask, peel cream, and Vichy sample are all things that sound great.  I give this box a 4/5 on the strength of those 3 products.

Do you get the Allure box? What did you think about the August box? Have you used any of the samples I received? Do you like them?
