5 Faves August 2017

August has been an odd weather month. We had an unusually cool spell at the beginning of the month. It was getting down near 50 degrees overnight. Then it abruptly became August again with 90 degree days and overnights lows in the high 60’s 0r 70. My skin was less shiny at the end of the day during the cool weather.

Some of my faves this month are things that I have used for a while. I try to remember to give them a shout out now and again. There are also some new items that I have discovered recently and been using a lot this month. Read on to see what I loved in August.

IBY Beauty Crease Brush – Wanna step up your shadow game ASAP?! You’ll need the right tools. Thankfully, this blending master picks up what you’re putting down, flawlessly. (No fallout here thankyouverymuch.) Thanks to the dense, domed shape, this is THE brush you need to blend out your darker shadow shades and create fierce definition.  It’s furry friendly! The super soft, synthetic bristles are 100% vegan. This brush came in my Ipsy July 2017. I didn’t include it in Best of the Boxes July 2017 because I hadn’t had a chance to try it yet. Now that I have I love it and have been reaching for it every morning. It is a really good crease brush and I am happy that I got it in my bag.

WinkyLux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil – One brow pencil to rule them all! Simplify your brown game with this 2-step pencil. Its firm texture gives maximum control so anyone can be a brow boss. This came in the Boxycharm July 2017 and is another sample from last month that didn’t make Best of the Boxes for July. At that time I was using a powder for my brows and was loving that. I thought that this tip was too thick and I wouldn’t like it. Surprise again. I have been using this almost every day in August too. It makes it a breeze to do my brows.

Clarisonic Mia 2 – Lightweight, compact sonic facial cleansing brush with 2 speeds: Delicate’ and ‘Universal’. Ultra-effective facial cleansing removes dirt, oil and makeup 6 x better than your hands alone. The Clarisonic Mia 2 gives you a gentle and thorough sonic facial cleansing experience at home or on the go. I have had my Clarisonic for almost 2 years and I still love it. I use it every other night and is an important part of my Summer Skincare Routine.  If I wasn’t afraid that it would be too much on my skin, I would use it every night.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser – The best products are those that simply get the job done. This mild face wash does just that by thoroughly cleansing skin without stripping it of moisture or natural oils. Vitamin-rich apricot kernel and avocado oils hydrate and smooth skin while squalane, a signature Kiehl’s ingredient, restores natural moisture balance, leaving skin clean, calm and refreshed. I got this in my Birchbox July 2017 and have used this every night this month. I am moving up to a higher sterngth tretinoin and my skin has been flaky. This has been the perfect gentle, hydrating cleanser at night.

Leaders 7 Wonders Mediterranean Olive Brightening Mask – Struggling with uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation? This coconut gel mask is infused with olive oil to remedy dull, tired skin and leaves the skin dewy! I love this particular mask and all the masks in this line. Read Leaders 7 Wonders Mediterranean Olive Brightening Mask Review for my full thoughts on it. This line of masks is just amazing. I always see a visible difference after using this.

Have you tried any of my August favorites? Do you love them as much as I do? What were your favorites in August?

      1. I do like it! It’s very gentle cause of the silicone bristles, but still provides a deeper cleanser than your hands 🙂 But it’s just so pricy, I wish they could make the price a bit more reasonable.
