In July I had the least amount of empties that I think I have had since starting this series of posts. So, I started August wondering if it would be another month of minimal empties. That is disappointing because I like to see that I finished a pile of products!
I am still trying to work through my closet full of bath and body products. That is getting harder because I have finished most of the bottles that I had already used a decent amount. I am now down to things that are full. That looks to start slowing down. My goal remains to finish at least 1 bath and body product each month. I don’t count my Avon SSS Gelled Body Oil because I am constantly replacing it when it runs out.
Read on to see what I finished in August and if I liked it enough to repurchase.

They help to lift, firm and tone your skin. Just one treatment will leave your face feeling smoother & softer, looking younger & more radiant! This box had 5 sheet masks in it and I picked it up for $4.99 at TJ Maxx. It was just ok. Nothing special so I don’t see buying it again.
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Bar – gently removes dirt, oil and makeup without disrupting skin’s natural protective barrier. Unlike any other cleansing bar, it also contains CeraVe Moisturizing Cream to hydrate and nourish so skin is left soft. In a clinical study, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bar was shown to lock in moisture 3 times longer than the leading brand. Non-comedogenic, non-drying and non-irritating. With ceramides and hyaluronic acid. Fragrance-free. I’m pretty sure I received this sample in a Target beauty box. I liked this cleanser a lot but I won’t repurchase. I just don’t like the mess you get with bar soap.
Konjac Sponges – Perfect for pampering all skin types, this natural cleansing sponge is made from 100% Konjac Root fibers. Asian Konjac Root has been used for centuries to gently exfoliate and detoxify skin while naturally balancing skin’s PH levels. When wet the sponges soften for gentle cleansing to deliver smooth, soft, brighter looking skin. I discovered Konjac sponges when I started using tretinoin (Retin A). They help to get the dead skin off. Learn more about tretinoin here, here, here and here.
Sur Medic Age Control – Multi Vita Sheet Mask – Sur Medic Age Control – Multi Vita Sheet Mask. I am working on a review of this but I did like it.
The Ordinary Buffett Serum – This formula combines a comprehensive array of studied technologies to target multiple signs of aging at once. The technologies are Matrixyl 3,000 peptide complex (with palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7), Matrixyl Synthe’6 peptide complex (with palmitoyl tripeptide-38), Syn-Ake peptide complex (with dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate), Relistase peptide complex (with acetylarginyltryptophyl diphenylglycine), Argirelox peptide complex (with acetyl hexapeptide-8, pentapeptide-18), Probiotic complex (with lactococcus lactis lysate), in a base of 11 skin-friendly amino acids and multiple hyaluronic acid complexes. You can read the full review here. I have some other serums that I need to use but I will repurchase this.
Hera Waterin Gel Serum – An intensive hydrating gel serum that awakens skin with fresh moisture as if water droplets bursting on the skin to keep it moisturized and smooth. I had several sample packets of these from Beauty Beyond Borders August 2016. Since I just finished the Buffett serum I thought it was a good time to use them. I liked the first packet.
pur~lisse Blue Lotus Seed 5-in-1 mud mask + exfoliant – As a rule, mud masks can be well, messy, but this one makes you feel more like you’re at the spa than running a tough mudder. It also does about 10 million amazing things for your complexion (we’re talking brighten, detoxify, tighten, and soothe, all while gently exfoliating), thanks to a power combo of ingredients including blue lotus seeds, bamboo, white clay, ginger, and mushroom. I got this sample in the Ipsy Bag January 2017 and got several uses out of it. I liked this mask but doubt I will repurchase because there are too many other masks still to try!
BanilaCo Clean it Zero Classic – This award-winning cleanser goes on as a solid balm and transforms into a silky oil on the skin. It’s sorbet-soft, lightweight texture effortlessly dissolves stubborn makeup without stripping your own natural oils. Papaya extract works to naturally exfoliate the skin and acerola extract is rich in vitamin C which helps to brighten. I did a full review on this here. I love this and will repurchase.
Rata & Co. Rosehip Face Mask – Rata and Co Home Spa Rosehip Face Mask is a rich formulation containing the goodness of Rosehip Oil. Infused with Aloe Vera, to nourish and moisturize, as well as Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate the skin, making lines less visible. Use as part of your skin care routine to give your face the extra nourishment and attention it deserves. This mask will gently warm your skin, enabling the powerful natural active ingredients to deliver optimum benefits to the skin, hence promoting a smoother and more radiant complexion. This is a decent mask and I might repurchase if I find it again at T.J. Maxx.
The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA – Alpha Arbutin reduces the looks of spots and hyper-pigmentation. It’s used at a high 2% concentration versus a standard concentration of 1% and supported with a next-generation form of Hyaluronic Acid for enhanced delivery. Alpha Arbutin is much stronger in effect than Arbutin or Beta Arbutin. I actually finished this bottle in July. I went on vacation at the end of July and didn’t want to take a brand new bottle with me so I poured some in my old bottle. I did a full review on this here.
Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Anti-Stress Mud Masque – Sea kelp nutrients and dead sea mud combine for an ultra deep pore cleansing experience that leaves skin soft and smooth. I was able to get 2 uses out of this packet. I am working on a full review so watch for that. Spoiler alert – I am not a fan!
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser thoroughly cleanses skin and removes makeup without over-drying or stripping skin of its natural oils. It dissolves excess oil, dirt, and debris, and is pH-balanced to maintain skin’s natural balance. Avocado oil and squalene help to restore hydration—keeping skin extra soft and supple. I am also working on a review for this product. I did like it.

This coconut gel mask is infused with olive oil to remedy dull, tired skin and leaves the skin dewy! This is one of my all time favorite masks. Leaders 7 Wonders Mediterranean Olive Brightening Mask Review has my full thoughts. I also named this one of my 5 Faves August 2017.
The Creme Shop Anti-Aging Egg Nog Sheet Mask – The next best thing to a time machine, for instantly younger skin, treat yourself to an egg white facial. Tightens skin by shrinking pores and correcting discolorations. This was a limited edition box of 5 masks that I purchased as part of a Marshalls Haul. Read The Creme Shop Anti-Aging Egg Nog Sheet Mask Review to learn more. I am sad that I have used all these. Especially since they were a limited edition.
Bath and Body

Formulated with precious argan oil, it locks in 24 hours of sensually soft moisturization, leaving skin silky smooth and luminous. Delicate floral fragrance. No greasy after feel. If I could choose only 1 bath and body product this would be it. I cannot imagine living without it and if they ever stopped making it, I would be devastated. It makes my feet and yes, that includes my heels, look pedicure soft and smooth Every. Single. Day. Even in the winter, my skin feels like silk. No itching. No peeling. No crusting. Just soft, smooth legs and feet. I love it so my much that a review of it was my first post. It is one of my absolute must-have products and I will always repurchase it and use it daily. Love it!! It was obviously 1 of my 2016 Favorites.
Bath & Body Works Pleasures Gardenia Lily Creamy Body Wash – Gardenia, Lily, Jasmine, and Muguet. Nature’s most elegant white flowers pair with a hint of fresh linen in this utterly feminine fragrance. I like this scent but it has been discontinued. It is very floral.
Bath & Body Works Pleasures Gardenia Lily Body Cream – this goes with the body wash. It smells so good and the scent lingers.

The low-ammonia formula covers 100% of grays and matches seamlessly with at-home and salon haircolor. No uneven touch-ups, just beautiful, seamless color. This is a regular repurchase for me. I do a full color 1 month and this the next month. It does a great job of covering my roots and letting me go longer between full colors. It is super fast and easy.
Dove Detox and Purify Dry Shampoo – Refresh and revive oily hair between washes with Detox & Purify dry shampoo, for beautifully clean results every time. This is my warm weather formula since hair tends to get oilier in the summer. I got a couple of bottles of this in my last Drugstore Haul . It is a favorite that I always repurchase.
Swisspers Premium Products Mini Blending Sponges – Blending Mini Sponges for Smooth Blending of Foundation, Blush and other Cosmetics. Their unique shape gives you perfect control around the nose, eyes, and other fine areas. You can pick up a 2 pack of these for $2.98 at Walmart. They are worth every penny. These are perfect for blending concealer, especially under the eye. They are soft and just work so well. I love this so much that they were one of my 5 Faves January 2017.
I finished up a ton of skin care. A lot of it was samples but it was still a bunch. I was pleased to finish up a decent amount of bath and body products. It was a slow month for makeup. Maybe because I have more than I will ever use?
What did you finish up this month? Any of the products in my empties can? Do you love or hate any of the products I used up in August?
