Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, haircare, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose the box based on my profile.
You can see what I typically get in my boxes here, here, here, here., and here If you would like to try Birchbox you can join here. That is my personal link and I will get points.
The theme for the August box is Easy Does It. Wind down from a sun-sational summer with products that make you feel refreshed and recharged. This is an especially pretty box this month. It has a beach sunset and I do love the beach. Now let’s take a look what was inside the beautiful box.
Curl Keeper by Curly Hair Solutions Original Curl Keeper – Transform wild curls into soft, well-defined ones with this unique styling lotion. The water-based formula controls frizz without weighing hair down or leaving behind a sticky residue. Best of all, it reactivates when you dampen strands to smooth down unruly locks—ideal for styling between washes. I am looking forward to trying this. I have curls and I get so frizzy. If this works I will be thrilled.
Acure Organics Day Cream – Consider this face cream the skincare equivalent of a superhero suit. It offers serious protection against environmental damage and free radicals, thanks to an infusion of chlorella growth factor and gotu kola stem cells. Not only does it naturally firm skin and even out tone, but also it locks in moisture for all-day nourishment. Ideal for normal to dry skin. I already know that I like this moisturizer. I got a sample of it in a Target beauty box at some point. It is a good cold weather moisturizer for me.
LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick in Coral Pink – These paraben-free, cruelty-free, and high-pigment matte lipsticks from Birchbox brand LOC are designed to stay soft, creamy, and (most importantly) comfortable all day. What’s more, we teamed up with our favorite beauty stars (and longtime Birchbox fans) in the biz to create and name these vivid, full-coverage hues. There’s Wildest Dreams, Glam Life, and First Kiss. I am always happy to get new lip products to try. However, I have not been thrilled with the quality of other LOC products I have gotten. The tip has broken off a couple of them. This lipstick is patchy on my lips and settles in the lines. I don’t like the formula or the color.
GLAMGLOW® THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatment – When our throat is feeling parched, we go for a tall glass of water (or our fave refreshing smoothie). And when our complexion is especially thirsty, we treat it to this powerfully hydrating mask. Packed with nourishing, energizing actives, including hyaluronic acid, raw honey, and ginger root, it provides immediate, deep hydration and seals in moisture to enhance skin’s radiance and suppleness. The result? A healthy, glowing, and altogether rejuvenated complexion. I LOVE getting Glamglow samples. I enjoy their products but will not drop $69 on a 1.7 oz container. This will be perfect for the upcoming cold, dry weather.
TokyoMilk Light And Soul Eau De Parfum – Because looming deadlines, all-day meetings, and bills, bills, bills can sometimes feel like they’re taking a toll on our sanity, we like to indulge in a bit of levity when we can—whether it’s in the form of a zen yoga session or this breezy, enchanting scent. With a single spritz, it immediately imbues us with a sense of free-spirited bliss. Featuring notes of pressed oolong tea leaves, bamboo reed, orchid, and white musk, this whimsical blend is a delight for our senses and our mind. I don’t wear perfume so it is always a disappointment to receive perfume samples in my subscriptions.
Other than the perfume I am satisfied with my August Birchbox. I give this box a solid 3/5. I know that I like the Acure Day Cream and will use it this winter. The hair product sounds perfect for the type hair that I have. I also know that I will use, and probably like, the Glamglow this winter. I don’t like the lipstick at all. The formula is not good and the shade doesn’t work for me. the perfume sample won’t be used.
Do you get Birchbox? What did you get this month? Were you pleased? Have you tried any of the products in my box? What do you think of them?
