Makeup and Skin Care for Mature Skin

I ordered the Deep Pore Detoxifying Clay Mask when I got my Clarisonic Mia 2. I do love a mask and I need a good deep pore mask. My tube is called Detoxifying Clay Mask. It has since been renamed and repackaged to Deep Pore Detoxifying Mask but the ingredients seem to be the same.

 

This pore minimizing mask contains natural botanical ingredients, combined with kaolin and bentonite clays gently remove impurities from pores to reveal smoother, softer looking skin. The mask includes 2% hydroxy acids to help remove dead skin cells and detoxify pores. Paraben-free.

INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Kaolin, Bentonite, Aloe Barbadensis/Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Ceteareth-20, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Sunflower Seed Oil, Saccharum Officinarum Extract/Sugar Cane Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Water/Orange Fruit Water, Citrus Limon Fruit Extract/Lemon Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharinum Extract/Sugar Maple Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Extract/ Matricaria Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil/Rosemary Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Cucmis Sativus Fruit Extract/Cucumber Fruit Extract, Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract/Cucumber Fruit Extract, Cucumis Sativus Juice/Cucumber Fruit Extract, Curcuma Longa Extract/Turmeric Root Extract, Sclareolide, Rosa SPP/Rose Flower Oil, Jasminum Officinale Extract/Jasmine Extract.

This is a thick green mask with next to no scent. It spreads easily on the face and you can apply a thin layer with no problem. There was no burning, stinging, or tingling with the first application. The next time I used this it did sting for a minute or two after application but then was fine.

I removed my makeup, washed my face, and used my toner before applying the mask. It spreads fairly easily given how thick it is. It is not soft either. It has a very firm texture. I used a foundation brush to apply it and it worked really well. It dried without feeling tight on my face. It rinsed off cleanly and easily.

My face did not feel dry or tight after I rinsed it off. It did feel softer and there was some improvement in my pores. It is a decent mask but I don’t love it. It costs $27 for a 2 oz tube so it is on the higher end for me. I don’t think this mask is worth that price for me. T

I have several uses left in the tube and I will finish it. It has some nice ingredients and I like to incorporate AHA’s in my skin care. I don’t regret buying. I just won’t buy it again. There are so many good clay based masks out there that work as well as this for a lower cost.
