Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that is $10 per month. It contains 5 sample, deluxe sample, or a rare full sized product in each bag. It tends to contain more makeup products and tools. You can see what I have received in past bags here, here, here, here , and here .
All black, faux leather, and spiked. Is there anything more Like. A. Boss. than the September Glam Bag design? We. Think. Not.
I do like this bag. It is really cute without being cutesy. I do reuse my Ipsy bags by keeping my samples in them. I have one with eyeliners, one with mascara and so on. It makes it easier to find them when I’m ready to use them. So, on to what came in the bag.
ColourPop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Glam Bag – You voted, and here’s the winner! This exclusive matte shade was created in collab with our favorite peeps (ipsters like you). The velvety formula is majorly pigmented, which means you get totally opaque, full-coverage color. Even though it’s matte, it’s super comfy and non-drying thanks to moisturizing shea butter and Vitamin E. This looks like all bags will have the same shade that is an Ipsy exclusive. I like ColourPop Lippie Stix a lot but this shade scared me when I saw it online. It looked to be a bright, deep pink that wouldn’t work with my skin tone at all. It was more berry when I actually got it. For some reason ColourPop is never the shade it looks like online. But I do like this and I am a big fan of the ColourPop Lippie Stix. They are super comfortable and last forever. I am very happy with this.

Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey – Mix and match these universally flattering shades for a personalized flush. The light-diffusing powder is loaded with hydrating Vitamin E and mica, which means it blends like a dream. This warm peachy two-timer also works as an allover highlighter. I got a blush duo from Ipsy last month so I do not need another blush duo. I loved the Pacifica one but this is just awful. It is really more a highlight than a blush. And it isn’t great as a highlighter either. It left my skin looking so textured. I hated this.
Tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara – Lengthening. Curling. Volumizing. Conditioning. This does-it-all magical mascara seriously puts the spotlight on your lashes. The awesome “MagniLASH” wand coats, separates, and defines everyyy last lash.No animals were harmed in the making of your fab lashes. This cruelty-free formula is totally vegan. I am just not a big fan of mascara samples. I find them too small to be easy to use. I end up with mascara everywhere.
Elizabeth Mott Pop! Goes The Shadow in Toasted or Gunmetal – Streaks? Creases? #unsubscribe. This velvety baby blends like a dream. Your eye look will be on lockdown. We tested it on an epic errands day and our smoky eye stayed put. Toasted is a metallic bronze hue that makes any eye color pop. Gunmetal is a smoldery, steely gray that *also* looks rad as a liner. Past Ipsy Elizabeth Mott samples are always tiny. It is hard to even get a brush in it. Luckily for me I got gunmetal and I will never use it. I have green eyes and my skin is warm. Gunmetal is the last shade of eyeshadow I would ever use.
NEOGEN Dermalogy White Truffle Serum in Oil Drop – SOKO GLAM COLLAB: Chosen for ipsters by boss babe/Soko Glam co-founder Charlotte Cho. New formula alert! If serum and oil had a baby, you’d get this seriously lightweight (but still ultra-hydrating) hybrid. The luxe, fresh elixir made our complexion insanely glowy, radiant, and smooth. Truffle fries? Yes, please. Chocolate truffles? Duh. But truffle oil in our skincare? (Say what?) Yup. The fancy, foodie ingredient also helps strengthen skin. Finally, the good stuff! I choose this as my September sample choice. I am always game to try out a new serum and this sounds awesome.
This is one of the most disappointing Ipsy bag of 2017. I am happy with the ColourPop lippie stix and the serum. The blush duo and eyeshadow are plain awful. The mascara may be ok. I just don’t like small mascaras. This month gets a 2/5
Do you subscribe to Ipsy? What did you get this month? Were you happy with it? If you want to try it out I would appreciate your using my link. I get points if you do. I have had my subscription for about 2 years and I think it is a pretty good deal overall. I like a lot of what I receive and love getting to try new things.

Not great! The blush sounds particularly awful! Who wants a textured skin look?!

Texture doesn’t look good on anyone. I haven’t liked the few Pixi products I have tried.

I’m also getting that Pixi blush, your photo also terrifies me to receive it. It looks AWFUL. I’m sorry you didn’t like your bag this month! For me July was my worst bag ever. Next month looks a bit more promising especially that cute little bag with a bat on the zipper! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Ipsy is so up and down. That’s why I keep my subscription. It is usually ok.

I agree. It’s always worth the $10.00

I also use my ipsy bags for organization! I have an eyeliner bag, a blush bag, a skincare bag… Etc!
I really loved the colourpop lippie stix, I saw a lot of subscribers saying it was way too bright, but I like the color. I’m sorry to hear that most of your bag was disappointing, I hope the serum holds up to your expectations!
