Empties September 2017

As you can see from the picture I used a lot of stuff in September! I am surprised by how many empties I managed to have by the end of the month. This month I had a lot of products in all the categories. I had more hair care empties than I have ever had.

I used a lot of masks this month. I am increasing the strength of tretinoin that I use and my face has been flaky. It should also be getting cooler causing my face to get a touch drier. But at the end of September, we are still seeing highs near 90 and lows only in the 60’s. It doesn’t feel much like fall. Read on to see what I used up and what I thought about it.

HAIR CARE

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Touchable Curl Cream – Curls gone wild? Add some definition and control to your hair with this amazing curl cream. It will help maintain and create soft curls that look au natural. This innovative formula from PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain combines the silky texture of a serum with the light hold of a cream so it won’t weigh down your locks. I really liked this. It made my curls look so nice and it had a great scent too. I may look into purchasing a full size of this.

L’Oreal Superior Preference Hair Color in 5 1/2 AM Medium Copper Brown –  Experience color so luminous, so lasting…with Superior Preference®. Superior Preference® is our true gold standard of color and shine that defies fade-out for up to 8 weeks and covers grays beautifully. Our color protective Care Suprême® Conditioner, is formulated with Golden Camelina Oil, anti-oxidant Vitamin E and a UV filter which helps keep first day color vibrancy and provides soft, luxuriously silky hair. From root to tip, color won’t fade-out, turn dull or brassy. L’Oreal is my favorite hair color. I thought I would go copper for fall.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray – Hair milk? Sounds weird, but it’s actually amazing! This one has all the benefits of a hair cream, but in an ultra lightweight mist that hydrates and tames frizz on ALL hair types! Feeling knotty? Spritz on damp hair and comb through for some major detangling action.  It’s subtly tropical scented, and TBH we’re suckers for anything that smells like a cocktail. This came in my Ipsy Bag May 2017. It was nothing special and I couldn’t see that it did much for my hair.

Clairol Hair Food Dry Shampoo Infused with Kiwi Fragrance – Pamper yourself with our unique sulfate free Hair Food Dry Shampoo infused with kiwi fragrance. The lightweight hair refresher recipe absorbs excess oils and transforms oily hair into fresh hair.  I like this dry shampoo. I don’t love it, but I like it. I prefer Dove Dry shampoo so I probably wouldn’t buy a full size of this. If there was a really good sale I might buy it.

R+Co Twister Curl Primer  – This concentrated burst of style allows you to rock your curly hair like a roller coaster. A lightweight primer that acts as a foundation for all your other styling products, TWISTER will add moisture, help define your curls and leave your hair soft, never crunchy. I got this in Birchbox- September 2016 and it did make my curls look better. I have so many other hair products for curls that I won’t be buying anything for a while.

SKINCARE

20170928_202928

Vitamasque Face Food Kiwi Fruit Yoghurt Mask – The Vitamasques Kiwi Yoghurt Mask contains a unique blend of Yoghurt Extract as well as Kiwi Extract to provide smoothness and radiance to your skin. The Kiwi Extract also enhances and revitalizes your tired skin. I received this mask in my Ipsy August 2017 and included it in Best of the Boxes August 2017. I actually was not all that thrilled with it after using it. Watch for an upcoming review of the mask to see why.

Konjac Sponges –  Perfect for pampering all skin types, this natural cleansing sponge is made from 100% Konjac Root fibers. Asian Konjac Root has been used for centuries to gently exfoliate and detoxify skin while naturally balancing skin’s PH levels. When wet the sponges soften for gentle cleansing to deliver smooth, soft, brighter looking skin. I discovered these about the time I started tretinion. They have since become a key part of my skin care routine. They are featured in A.M. Skincare Routine – FallBeauty and Skin Care Products for the Beach,  Summer Skincare Routine, and 5 Faves April 2017. I don’t need to repurchase because I bought 12 last time I ordered them.

Llang Self Clinic 3 Step Moisturizing – Self Clinic 3 Step Kit Moisturizing is a celebrity’s secret 3-step self-care solution that helps her face stay moist and supple even after being showered by paparazzi flashes. This is a very good mask. I am working on a full review so watch for it.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser – Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a mild, non-irritating formulation that soothes skin as it cleans. In fact, it’s gentle enough for a baby’s delicate skin. Designed specifically to work for all skin types, it is a simple, yet highly effective way to care for your skin. I don’t like this anywhere near as much as I love my Holy Grail CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. The Cetaphil leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean where the CeraVe leaves it feeling clean and hydrated.

BioRepublic Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask – A skin revitalizing facial mask infused with natural aloe vera extract, phytocollagen, and vitamin e. This is another mask that I am working on a full review. It did hydrate my face nicely.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% – Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant and its pure form of L-Ascorbic Acid has been shown to reverse multiple signs of skin ageing while brightening the skin when applied topically. This water-free, silicone-free formula provides 23% pure L-Ascorbic Acid which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. The system is supported with addition of dehydrated spheres of Hyaluronic Acid to offer visible surface smoothing alongside the benefits of Vitamin C. This treatment is ideally applied at bedtime. I won’t be repurchasing this for now. Read my full thoughts on it here.

Hera Waterin Gel Serum – An intensive hydrating gel serum that awakens skin with fresh moisture as if water droplets bursting on the skin to keep it moisturized and smooth. I had several sample packets of these from Beauty Beyond Borders August 2016. Since I just finished the Buffett serum I thought it was a good time to use them. This was a decent serum but it wasn’t anything special. I probably won’t buy a full size.

Malie Collagen Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask. This mask was in the pack I ordered from Amazon that included the Malie Snake Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask. These are sheet masks and I like them a lot. The Collagen formula was really good and left my face looking brighter and plumper. These are great masks for the cost. I will repurchase when I finally use all the many sheet masks I have on hand.

Rata & Co. New Zealand Naturals Rose Hip Face Mask  – is a rich formulation containing the goodness of Rosehip Oil. Infused with Aloe Vera to nourish and moisturize, as well as Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate the skin, making lines less visible. Use as part of your skin care routine to give your face the extra nourishment and attention it deserves. This mask will gently warm your skin, enabling the powerful natural active ingredients to deliver optimum benefits to the skin, hence promoting a smoother and more radiant complexion. This was the last of the 5 pack I bought in a T. J. Maxx Haul. This was another sheet mask with a milky white essence rather than a clear one. When I removed it the lotion was still just sitting n my face but I was able to massage it in and it left my face soft and smooth.

For Beloved Girl Extreme Moisture Mineral Cloud Silk Mask – The star product from Taiwan’s For Beloved Girl, this mask will cure all dry patches! Packed with hyaluronic acid, sodium PCA, and sodium lactate, this mask is designed to lock in all-day moisture to create an immediate glow for dehydrated and fatigued skin. I’m working on a full review but I did like this mask.

Yardley of London Apothary Shower Scrub, O-Live It Up – This salt based exfoliator glides on smooth to slough away rough spots. Enriched with olive oil to leave skin soft and renewed. This is part of my massive hoard of bath and body products. I have had it awhile and it is time to trash it.

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips – Dissolves and “lifts away” long-wearing makeup, even waterproof mascara. Non-irritating, non-stinging. Ophthalmologist tested. Appropriate for contact lens wearers. This is my all time favorite eye makeup remover. I have several more trial sizes so I won’t be buying a full size anytime soon.

Neogen SurMedic Hydro-Hyaluronic Sheet Mask – Sheet mask saturated in an ampoule essence carrying high concentration of hyaluronic acid effectively penetrates your skin for thorough intense moisture replenishment! I picked this sheet mask up for $1 in my Monster Sheet Mask Haul. It is a good mask and I will buy more.

Malie Placenta Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask – I only have one of these left so I will be reordering. They are so good and so cheap!

The Cure Honey Collagen Essence Mask  – Improve skin elasticity and radiance with Honey Extract, an effective ingredient that fights the harmful effects of environmental stressors that lead to sagging and loss of resilience. This mask was part of Ipsy Mask Bundle and it is a nice mask. I love skincare that contains honey. This was a nice mask that hydrated my face.

Avon Anew Clinical Retexturizing Peel – Have you ever wanted the spa treatment with the ease of staying at home? The Anew Clinical Retexturizing Peel has shown superior results to a professional 35% glycolic peel and can be added as a part of your weekly skin care routine. The advanced exfoliators smooth and resurface tough skin and remove unwanted dead cells. This formula with soothing botanicals cleanses and moisturizes skin for a more youthful appearance and a healthy glow. Peels away dullness and visible damage for healthier looking skin. 30 unscented pads help clean and heal skin while reducing acne.  I used this once a week on the night I didn’t use tretinoin. It made my skin softer but I cant say I saw amazing results. I have many other AHA products to try so I won’t be repurchasing this.

MAKEUP

20170928_203016

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – Up to 5 hours natural shine control with natural minerals. Helps minimize the appearance of pores. I didn’t get a chance to completely use this up. I dropped it with about 1/4 left and had to toss it. Luckily fall is coming and it is time to switch anyway. I will repurchase this again in the spring when the heat makes me shiny. This is a Holy Grail product for me and features in posts Makeup for a Hot and Humid Day in Charleston , 5 Faves in July, and Summer Go-To Products to Combat Shine. I love it.

PUR Blend Squad 3-Piece Beauty Sponge Set – Fulfill your squad goals with this exclusive, limited-edition and multi-colored Contour Blending Sponge set. These latex-free and non-allergenic sponges can be used damp or dry. They’re washable, reusable and odor-free. I got this in the Boxycharm April 2017and this is the last one. I am sad because I really like these sponges. They are much firmer than the Beauty Blender but they do a good job.

Wet N Wild Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer – this is from the Fergie Collection and has been discontinued. I am crushed because this is a Holy Grail for me. It is the best eyeshadow primer I have ever used. My eyeshadow lasts all day long with this. I included this in my 5 Faves in February. I hope that the new Photofocus is the same formula.

Beautyblender – The unique shape and exclusive material available only with beautyblender® ensures impeccable, streak-free application with minimum product waste. Use it with primers, foundations, powders, cream blushes, and any other complexion product.  I got this for $15 and I really wanted to try this cult fav. It is good but not enough better than the Real Techniques blender that I will spend $20 on it.

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 – We’re always skeptical when products promise the sun and the moon, but Dr. Jart+’s Premium Beauty Balm truly delivers. A four-in-one primer, moisturizer, sunscreen, and treatment serum, the formula helps you cut down on the grooming clutter. This tinted balm uses adenosine to improve skin’s elasticity and arbutin to brighten and even out skin tone. An antioxidant bio-peptide complex provides anti-aging properties and promotes collagen production, while titanium dioxide and zinc oxide add broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. This came in the Birchbox June 2017 and it was part of Beauty and Skin Care Products for the Beach. OMG, I love this BB Cream!! It has good coverage and a natural dewy finish. It is the best BB CReam I have ever tried. I will buy a full size of this.

BATH AND BODY

20170928_203053

Degree Dry Protection Fresh Invisible Solid – Degree Fresh 24-hour dry antiperspirant stick with 24-hour protection – with a bright, sparkling fragrance of pear, raspberry, mandarin, and vanilla. Enjoy superior odor and wetness protection with Degree Antiperspirant deodorant. 24-hour sweat and odor protection. Degree is my go-to deodorant for the summer. I need a really strong deodorant for hot, humid days and this works. I will definitely repurchase when it gets hot again.

Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair Extra Strength Cream – Can’t find the perfect hand cream for winter dryness? Moisture Therapy Intense Healing & Repair Extra Strength Cream quickly alleviates rough skin. No matter whether you have chapped hands, feet, or elbows, it moisturizes the toughest of skin with Hydraboost Technology offering 24 hour protection. I love this stuff! Avon makes great bath and body products. I will repurchase this.

Victoria’s Secret Garden Romantic Wish Stimulating Body Scrub – Silken skin from head to toe with our Stimulating Body Scrub. Its luxurious foam cleanses and moisturizes, while sugar crystals naturally exfoliate, leaving skin revitalized, refreshed, and sensuously scented with delightfully delicate Romantic Wish. This is now discontinued but was part of my huge stash of bath and body products. It smelled wonderful but I didn’t like it as a scrub. I don’t want my scrubs to also foam.

Cos Bar Aspen Blueberry White Tea Body Lotion – New Yorker turned ski bum, Lily Garfield, worked her way up from behind the beauty counter to become Aspen’s Queen of Cosmetics. Since it first opened in 1976, Cos Bar has remained a cutting-edge beauty palace for the lovely ladies of Aspen. I got this on clearance at Target and it has been discontinued. That’s too bad because it smelled amazing and was a great body lotion. I liked it a lot.

Yardley of London Apothary Shower Scrub, O-Live It Up – This salt based exfoliator glides on smooth to slough away rough spots. Enriched with olive oil to leave skin soft and renewed. This is part of my massive hoard of bath and body products. I have had t awhile and it is time to trash it.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt –  This rich, creamy yogurt-inspired body lotion keeps skin velvety soft and healthy-looking. I didn’t like this. It didn’t melt into my skin and didn’t feel like it made it soft either. I wouldn’t buy this.

Avon Skin So Soft Gelled Body Oil – Pamper your skin with this intensely moisturizing gelled body oil. Formulated with precious argan oil, it locks in 24 hours of sensually soft moisturization, leaving skin silky smooth and luminous. Delicate floral fragrance. No greasy after feel.  If I could choose only 1 bath and body product this would be it. I cannot imagine living without it and if they ever stopped making it, I would be devastated. It makes my feet and yes, that includes my heels, look pedicure soft and smooth Every. Single. Day. Even in the winter, my skin feels like silk. No itching. No peeling. No crusting. Just soft, smooth legs and feet. I love it so my much that a review of it was my first post.  It is one of my absolute must-have products and I will always repurchase it and use it daily. Love it!! It was obviously 1 of my 2016 Favorites.

I was happy to use up 3 products from my bath and body stash. I wasn’t expecting to get through so many. I went through a lot of sheet masks and I expect that to continue as it gets cooler. I like to use sheet masks on nights when my face looks dry or flaky.

Did you finish up a lot of beauty products this month? Do you use a lot of samples? Have you tried any of my empties? Did we have the same opinion on it?

If you enjoyed this post please “like” it. If you follow me then you won’t miss any posts! Thanks for stopping by.
