Birchbox October 2017

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription that is $10 per month. You receive 4-5 samples or deluxe samples each month. You get makeup, skincare, haircare, bath and body, perfume, or beauty tools. Birchbox has 3 choices each month. You can choose a specially curated box and you know exactly what is in it. The 2nd choice is to choose 1 of your samples from 3-5 choices. The final choice is to let them create the box based on your profile. I have chosen each option at one time or another. This month I chose the curated box.

You can see what I typically get in my boxes   here,  herehere,  here, and here   If you would like to try Birchbox you can join here. That is my personal link and I will get points. Birchbox is great some months, good others, and not great at times too. Read on to see why I picked the curated box this month.

The theme for this month is Beauty: Behind the Scenes. We’re pulling back the curtain on some of beauty’s hardworking secret weapons.

Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner – Don’t fear the liquid. stila’s genius liner turns anyone into a beauty pro. It gets rid of the complication and mess of regular liquid liner by swapping out the usual brush for a marker-style tip. All of a sudden, it’s easy to get a smooth line, and because it’s waterproof, it won’t budge even on the hottest days. This sample is the reason I picked the curated box this month. This is my Holy Grail eyeliner. It is simply the best!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – In our experience, it’s unhealthy things that typically happen around midnight (think back-to-back episodes of The Wire and regrettable junk-food binges). But Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate has us rethinking that theory. The 99.8 percent natural, paraben-free formula boosts skin’s natural reparative functions so that you can wake up to a smoother, firmer complexion. I have received other Kiehl’s samples in past boxes and I like the brand. I am looking forward to trying this out.

[ comfort zone ] Hydramemory Cream Gel – Meet a higher level of hydration with this deeply rich yet lightweight cream gel. Infused with macro hyaluronic acid for a double dose of moisture, plus moringa oil and natural extracts, it quenches skin and keeps it that way all day without the use of silicones. Your complexion appears more plump and even, and feels ultrarefreshed thanks to the formula’s gel-based texture (good for oily to combination skin) and cooling sensation. You’ll also feel good knowing it doesn’t contain any parabens, mineral oil, or artificial colors that could potentially irritate or clog your pores. I’m not sure this will be moisturizing enough for my fall/winter skin. This may have to wait until spring for me to try it.

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Shampoo – It’s kind of hard to elevate your ‘do when product buildup, oil, and grime are weighing it down. Add some oomph to your limp locks with this shampoo that clarifies and volumizes with the help of black sesame and grapefruit, infusing life and weightless body back into your hair and purifying strands so it stays that way. You’ll not only look good but also feel good about the fact that it contains no silicones, parabens, or sulfates and the 99% biodegradable and 71% natural formula is housed in a recycled bottled. Although I really don’t need shampoo or conditioner I am a big fan of Matrix Biolage so I will use this.

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Conditioner – Hair constantly feeling weighed down and in need of a lift? The offender is most likely product buildup. Let this nourishing conditioner properly purify your strands with oil-absorbing kaolin clay and also give ’em a boost of volume and hydration with kiwi. Your hair will dry with natural, lightweight body because there’s no room for silicones, parabens, sulfates, or artificial colorants that could strip or overload, just a 99% biodegradable and 95% natural formula in a recycled plastic bottle. Good for your mane and the environment? What more could you ask for? I prefer to use matching shampoo and conditioner so I am happy to get both in this box.

I am happy with my box this month. The only sample that won’t get immediate use is the moisturizer. I just don’t think it will be enough for my flaky skin. The nice thing about choosing the curated box is that I knew I would be happy with it.

Do you get Birchbox? What did you get this month? Were you pleased? Have you tried any of the products in my box? What do you think of them?
