Even though I get several subscription boxes I always am most excited about getting my Boxycharm. It is the most expensive subscription I get at $21 a month but it is almost always well worth it. You can see what I have received in past boxes here, here, here, here, here, and here.
The theme this month was Spellbound and it was another good month. Read on to see what was in my box.
Dr. Brandt Pore Dermabrasion – Pore-perfecting technology at your fingertips, with a professional-grade micro-crystal solution, that instantly deep-cleans and refines pores. This retails for $58 so I was very happy to get an opportunity to try it as part of a $21 subscription box. I received another full sized Dr. Brandt exfoliator in Boxycharm February 2017 and really liked it. I am looking forward to trying this.
Jonteblu Lip Liner Pencil – The creamy, highly pigmented formula glides on effortlessly. Can be used for flawless lip contouring, worn alone, or as a long-lasting base for any lip color. This is a pretty shade that matches the Tarte lip color. The thing is that I don’t use lip liners. I know that is somewhat blasphemy when I do wear lipstick daily. It is just an extra step that I never do.
Dirty Little Secrets Eyeshadow Chubby – This creamy consistency allows you to use it alone as an eyeshadow, or as an eyeshadow base. This is a very pretty golden color. I am liking this a lot and have already used it several times.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter – Best-selling creamy highlighter powder that will light up the features you love with a high-shine finish. This was the big item in this month’s box. This is a cult favorite highlighter that retails for $38. It is a beautiful shade but not as creamy as I expected. I am still thrilled to have this. It is good for every day and can be built up for a glamorous nighttime look. Some boxes had the powder highlighter and some had a Becca liquid highlighter. I am glad I got the powder because I don’t really like liquid highlighters.
Tarte Tarteist Quick Matte Paint – A full coverage, transfer-proof liquid lipstick with a quick-dry matte finish. I was so excited to see this in my box. I really like Tarte lip products. The issue is that the shade is just too light for me and looks awful on my lips. It looks like a perfect shade in the tube but not so much on my lips.
You know how good Boxycharm must be if this was just a so-so box for me. I was so disappointed with the Tarte Matt Paint. I like the formula and would have been thrilled if the shade had worked for me. I won’t use the lip pencil no matter how good it is. I expected the highlighter to be a better formula than it is. It was more powdery than I expected.
I do like the eye pencil and think it is perfect for upcoming holiday looks. I am sure that the Dr. Brandt will be a good exfoliator. I can’t complain much. Most months knock it out of the park so I am ok with not being terribly thrilled with this month’s box.
Do you subscribe to Boxycharm? What did you think of your box this month? Have you tried any of the products I received in my box? What did you think of them?

I’m so close to canceling ipsy and subbing to Boxycharm. Although after reading this one I’m a bit afraid.
The sizes of the products are so much better. I am always disappointed in those Tarte mattes. In fact that was what my very first blog post was about on WP. Lol convince me to switch … or not?

Well I cancelled my Ipsy after my October bag. I get so many of the same type of products and they are so small most of the time. I have never been totally disappointed with Boxycharm. It does cost twice as much but it is about 10x better than Ipsy.
