Derma MD Skincare

Derma MD reached out to me on Instagram to ask if I would like to try their products. I was super excited because this was the first time I have ever been offered products to try. I was surprised when a few days later the package arrived in the mail. They graciously sent me a daytime moisturizer with SPF, a serum, and a nighttime moisturizer.

The three products came in identical packaging. They are silver cylinders that have a pump. The bottles look big but only contain an ounce of product each. It is very nice packaging but you don’t know how much you have left in the bottle as you use it. They are solid, heavy bottles.

I have used these products for the entire month of October and have formed solid opinions on them. I feel like skincare products need at least a month of regular use to determine if they will work for you. I have normal skin that has some dry patches around my mouth and nose but can look shiny in hot weather. I use Retin A which also impacts how skincare works for my skin. My skin issues are dark spots, fine lines, and some wrinkles.

Now let’s take a look at what they sent me and what my thoughts are.

Ultra Shield SPF 30 Creamy Moisturizer  – This product is designed to protect the skin from sun from UVA/UVB damaging sun rays.  Safe enough to be after post procedures, yet effectively moisturizes skin and excellent for sensitive skin. This was a thick lotion that smelled liked sunscreen. It took some work to get it rubbed into my skin. But once it was rubbed in it did not look terribly greasy. It did have a slight white cast though. I am not terribly thrilled with bow thick and heavy it feels and how white it looks on my face. It did not look greasy or shiny at all. So that was good.

It isn’t moisturizing enough for my face. It would probably work better in the summer but then it might be too heavy. I don’t think there is anything necessarily wrong with the product. I just think it isn’t right for my skin type. It did work well with both my skincare and makeup though. I would not buy this because I need something more moisturizing. This is the most reasonably priced product I received. The 1-ounce bottle of this sells for $39.95.

Pink Silk Face Firming Rejuvenator – The Pink Silk Face Firming Rejuvenator is made with caviar, peptide, and antioxidants. I hate to sound negative about all these products but I don’t want dimethicone to be the 2nd ingredient in a serum. I worry that it might block the absorption of anything that I use after this. I am only using it at night rather than twice a day. I just don’t have time in my a.m. routine.I don’t really see any difference in my skin after using this for a month. I also don’t see where it has been detrimental either. I will finish out this bottle but I won’t be purchasing this either. It was the priciest product Derma MD sent to me. It sells for $89.95 on their website. I just don’t see that it did anything for me to justify that price. That is outside my skincare budget and it hasn’t done anything amazing for my skin.

Copper Peptide Complex + CoEnzyme Q10 Minera; Moisturizer – Copper peptide complex promotes collagen development and repairs skin which in turn reduces the appearance of unsightly wrinkles or fine lines.  Algae works to reduce the appearance of redness and helps standardize skin’s moisture content to leave it feeling hydrated without being oily.  Distended capillaries appear less noticeable.  When used twice daily, it will also increase skin firmness leaving you feeling radiant and lovely every single day.

  • Reduce appearance of distended capillaries

This was my favorite of the 3 products I received. It was a nice thicker lotion that was readily absorbed by my skin. It was not tacky or sticky.  Alas, it was not moisturizing enough for my skin in the fall. It would probably be a good summer nighttime moisturizer. I still wouldn’t purchase it because a 1 oz. bottle is $76.95. There are too many moisturizers that cost far less and work better.

I appreciate Derma MD giving the opportunity to try these products in exchange for an honest review. Obviously, I have given my very honest review on the products. They just did not work for my skin and skin type. I need more hydration in my daytime and nighttime moisturizer now that cold weather is here. Plus, my beauty budget doesn’t allow for high-end skincare.

Have you tried any of these Derma MD products? Have you tried anything from their line of skincare? Did you like it?
