I don’t have a Holy Grail night cream so I am always trying new ones. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a Holy Grail skincare product for me so I thought I would try a night cream from the brand. Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream looked like a good one so I bought a jar.
I trust this brand and it is highly recommended by dermatologists. This night cream says it is for all skin types. What made me buy it is that it has ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. Those are three ingredients that I look for in my skincare products.
CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream is formulated to restore the skin barrier overnight so you can wake up with skin that looks refreshed and renewed. This nongreasy formula contains an exclusive ceramide and peptide complex, along with kollaren and chronoline to help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and support skin elasticity. Ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide work to provide intense hydration while helping to repair and restore the protective skin barrier.
Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Glyceryl stearate SE, Stearic Acid, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Saccharide Isomerate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Ceramide 6 II, Ceramide 3, Ceramide 1, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3, Tripeptide-1, Cholesterol, Phenoxyethanol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Behentrimonium Methosulphate, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopherol, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Phytosphingosine, Dextran, Xanthan Gum
This is a fairly thick moisturizer and the first time I tried it I was afraid it would be too much for my skin. It felt thick and heavy coming out of the jar. Once applied it seems to just sink in the skin. It did not feel heavy or greasy. It was instantly absorbed.
My face did not look oily or greasy. It did not feel greasy to the touch. After about 30 minutes it was completely absorbed and I couldn’t even feel it on my skin. In the mornings my face felt soft and hydrated. There was no moisturizer still just sitting on my face when I washed it.
I like this night cream a lot. It is very moisturizer while not being too heavy. I was even able to use it during the hot, humid summer months. It did not cause any problems on my skin. My skin is normal/combo. I can get shiny by midday but I also have dry, flaky patches from using tretinoin. My skin is not particularly sensitive.
Overall, I think that this moisturizer would work for almost any skin type. It is super hydrating without heaviness. It is quickly absorbed and leaves my face soft and smooth the next morning.
Have you tried this moisturizer? What do you think of it? What is your favorite night cream?

I don’t have dry facial skin but at 60 plus always looking for things to reduce, help, skin aging or wrinkles. I don’t have sensitive skin as currently use Cerave Sa cleanser will no problems. I fear breakouts as that has always been a problem for me and unbelievably still is. Would you recommend this for me? Or hoping someone else may comment who has similar breakout concerns. Thanks for all your wonderful reviews and help.

Thank you for the kind words. This is not greasy at all so I think it is good for all skin types. Plus if you go online Cerave always has $2 off coupons.
