BioRepublic Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask

I got this BioRepublic Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask in an Ipsy Mask Bundle. They offer daily specials and this one had 14 masks for $15. It had a nice selection and this mask was one of the hydrating masks. Tretinoin can make my face a bit dry and flaky so a good hydrating mask is a must.

I always remove my makeup, cleanse my face, tone and apply tretinoin first. I like to give the tretinoin about 2 hours to fully absorb into my skin. I want to get maximum benefit from my most important active.

I apply my nighttime serums before I put on a sheet mask. One of my serums is The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. This allows these serums to be pressed deeply into my skin so they should be more fully absorbed.

This mask had a fresh, light scent. The mask itself was either very thin and flimsy or defective. It appeared to be missing part of the right size. I had to stretch to get the eye, mouth, and nose holes to line up and my face covered. I have never before had this happen with a sheet mask.

The sheet was pulpy and soft. It had an adequate amount of serum but there was not an excess of serum left in the package. The serum was a medium consistency like your typical serum.

I have a silicone mask cover that I wear over sheet masks. It keeps the mask in place and pressed tight against the skin to aid in absorption. This helped make sure that serum was in contact with my skin even if the mask didn’t totally cover my whole face.

When I removed the mask there was a lot of serum left on my face. It actually felt wet but I was able to massage the excess into my face. It felt sticky but was fine once I spritzed my face with rose water and applied rosehip oil mixed with my moisturizer.

My face did look plump and hydrated. It looked brighter too. This is an effective mask that hydrates very well. My only issue is the sheet itself. I don’t know what happened to it! It still worked but it wasn’t sitting on my face right. I have another BioRepublic sheet mask to try and I am interested to see if I have problems with it too.

Have you tried this mask? Did it tear up on you? Have you ever had a sheet mask either rip or be defective?
