Empties November 2017

Wow. I used up a lot of stuff this month! It is hard to believe 1 person could use so much in a month. I am still trying to go through a stash of bath and body products and am thrilled when I finish more than 1. Read on to see if I finished more than 1 bath and body product this month. I am not including all the masks I used this month since I will talk about those in a Friday Instagram update post.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45 – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 45 feels like you have nothing on, but offers broad-spectrum protection to help prevent sun damage.  This formula uses Avobenzone to provide advanced protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays, along with Dry-Touch technology for an ultra-light, non-shiny finish. Fast-absorbing, water-resistant and a non-oily formula. Heavy sun protection never felt this light on your skin. I bought this when I was searching for a daily facial sunscreen. Read my thoughts My Take on Sunscreen – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen.  I used the rest of this tube on my neck and chest. It is perfect for that and I may repurchase.

Back to Baby Mask Nourishing Special – this is a 2 step mask. You first use a giant swab soaked in a face oil/serum and then put on the sheet mask itself.  See my thoughts on this mask here.

Tony Moly I’m Real Luminating Lotus Mask Sheet – lotus mask makes dull skin look radiant and glowing. This is a good basic mask.

Nature Love Hyaluronic Face Mask  – Botanical extracts and sodium hyaluronate soothe and hydrate skin. I picked this up on clearance at TJ Maxx. It was ok.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator – Get a youthful glow with this microdermabrasion solution. This formula contains aluminum oxide crystals, lactic acid, and soothing botanicals to polish away dead skin cells, provide a radiant, healthy look, and smooth skin’s texture. Watch as the appearance of fine lines, acne marks, and skin discolorations diminish for maximum results in minimal time. You can read a full review here.

My Beauty Diary Imperial Bird’s Nest – I like this mask a lot. I have liked every My Beauty Diary mask that I have tried.

Hydrating Bubble Mask: This hydrating and nourishing gel transforms into a bubble mask on the face. Watch as bubbles fizz and foam to remove excess dirt and cleanse pores for glowing, healthy-looking skin.  I got this a while back in an e.l.f. Haul. I was not impressed with having to push down on the top to get it out. And it didn’t have a lot in it. I only got about 4 or maybe 5 uses out of it and I expected more based on the size of the tub. I won’t repurchase.

Supatet 0.1 Aqueous Gel – this is my tretinoin and I am now able to use the highest strength 6 nights a week. I love what it has done for my skin and I will always use it.

pixi Glow Tonic To-Go – Everything you love about the Glow Tonic TO GO! Travel-friendly pads pre-soaked in Glow Tonic to tone, brighten, hydrate and gently exfoliate for clean renewed skin. I use an AHA product on the night each week that I don’t use tretinoin. I liked this sample and will purchase a full size at some point.

Coola Tommy Bahama Natural Vanilla SPF 30 Mineral Face Tinted Sunscreen Lotion – Brilliant natural protection from the sun is yours with this SPF 30 mineral face sunscreen. Providing 40 minutes of water resistance, it’s lightly tinted for natural coverage and has no greasy feel. Plus, it’s free from harsh chemicals and features a natural vanilla scent. COOLA’s “Perfect 10 Blend” soothes your skin while preventing inflammation caused by the sun.I bought this sunscreen in a T. J. Maxx Haul for $4 and wasn’t expecting much. I liked it a lot and you can read the full review here.

Konjac Sponges –  Perfect for pampering all skin types, this natural cleansing sponge is made from 100% Konjac Root fibers. Asian Konjac Root has been used for centuries to gently exfoliate and detoxify skin while naturally balancing skin’s PH levels. When wet the sponges soften for gentle cleansing to deliver smooth, soft, brighter looking skin. I discovered these about the time I started tretinoin. They have since become a key part of my skincare routine. They are featured in A.M. Skincare Routine – FallBeauty and Skin Care Products for the Beach,  Summer Skincare Routine, and 5 Faves April 2017. I don’t need to repurchase because I bought 12 last time I ordered them.

e.l.f. Illuminating Eye Cream – Minimize dark circles with the Illuminating Eye Cream. This rich formula nourishes and deeply hydrates the skin with jojoba, vitamin E, and cucumber. I got this free from e.l.f and it was ok. I get a ton of eye cream samples in my beauty subscriptions so I never buy them. I probably would not buy this again.

Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – this sample came in either a Target or Walmart beauty box. I used it on my neck and really liked it. I prefer Asian sunscreens for my face but I may repurchase this for my neck and chest.

The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA – Alpha Arbutin reduces the looks of spots and hyper-pigmentation. It’s used at a high 2% concentration versus a standard concentration of 1% and supported with a next-generation form of Hyaluronic Acid for enhanced delivery. Alpha Arbutin is much stronger in effect than Arbutin or Beta Arbutin. This was part of my first The Ordinary Skin Care Haul and the only product I am still using. I did a full review here.

Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial Oil – Introducing a concentrated blend of Rosehip, Jojoba and Evening Primrose that works like a serum to give skin a naturally powerful dose of essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. In just one use, this anti-aging powerhouse leaves skin hydrated, smooth, and rejuvenated. When used over time, Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial oil has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This was a decent face oil. My issue with it is the scent. It is sharp and strong. For that reason, I would not repurchase.

Nude Progenius Treatment Oil – An anti-aging facial treatment oil formulated with a potent blend of omegas and 10 natural plant oils to promote smooth, youthful, luminous skin. This came in some subscription box. When I first used it I thought it broke me out. I tried it again this month and it has gone bad. It smells like fryer oil.

L’Oreal Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour in 51 Bronzed Brown  – With Feria, what you see is the shimmer. Multi-Faceted shimmering color with 3X highlights delivers intensified, brilliant results. Inspired by cutting-edge fashion, Feria’s prismatic color spectrum is custom-blended by L’Oreal master colorists for bold, head-turn+ing shades, no appointment necessary. The revolutionary Power Shimmer Conditioner hydrates and conditions week after week so hair is never wrecked or ravaged. L’Oreal is my favorite hair color. I went a little darker for fall with some red tones.

Nelsonj Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Mask – Argan oil 7 formula delivers a combination of multi benefits. This was an ok hair mask that I used about 1 time a week. It had a really nice coconut scent.

Curl Keeper by Curly Hair Solutions Original Curl Keeper –  Transform wild curls into soft, well-defined ones with this unique styling lotion. The water-based formula controls frizz without weighing hair down or leaving behind a sticky residue. Best of all, it reactivates when you dampen strands to smooth down unruly locks—ideal for styling between washes. This came in Birchbox August 2017 and I didn’t see a lot of frizz control.

L’Oreal Excellence Age Perfect Restorative Conditioning Treatment – this conditioner came with hair color. I used this once a week to keep my color looking good.

L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo and Conditioner – these samples were in the Feria color kit. They smell amazing.

R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo – This dry shampoo will do more than clean up your hair; it’ll lend it a kind of untamed texture—not unlike the landscape from which it takes its name. Just a few sprays will absorb excess oil, increase volume, and add definition. I got this sample in Birchbox May 2017 and I really liked it. It adds a lot of volume to the hair. I probably won’t repurchase though because it is pricey and my beloved Dove Dry Shampoo works as well for a fraction of the price.

e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set – Wish you could have a product for your makeup that’s like hairspray is for your hair? Well…keep your makeup staying in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold with our new Makeup Mist & Set. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading. This is another regular in my Empties posts. It works as well as any of the expensive ones.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer – This sample was in a holiday set from Sephora 2 years ago. As you can see from the package it got regular use! I really like this bronzer and will repurchase.

Bath and Body

Avon Skin So Soft Gelled Body Oil – Pamper your skin with this intensely moisturizing gelled body oil. Formulated with precious argan oil, it locks in 24 hours of sensually soft moisturization, leaving skin silky smooth and luminous. Delicate floral fragrance. No greasy after feel. This is a HG product that is an empty every month. This is an amazing product.

Bath and Body Works Pleasures Rich Citrus Cream Shower Gel – Zesty lime. Sweet Cream. Warm Vanilla. And just a pinch of sugar. This tempting fragrance blend is both rich and refreshing. I love this scent and I am sad that it is long discontinued. It has such a fresh scent.

Bath and Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Lotion – With 2x the moisture and 3x the Shea, this enhanced lotion contains more of what skin loves, leaving it feeling incredibly soft, smooth and nourished. Fortified with nutrient-rich ingredients like protective Vitamin E and fast absorbing Jojoba Oil, our ultra-nourishing formula delivers 16 hours of continuous moisture. This is the perfect fall scent that has unfortunately been discontinued.

Secret Invisible Solid pH Balanced Antiperspirant/Deodorant in Clean Lavender – this is my go-to deodorant for the fall and spring and the Clean Lavender is the best scent ever.

I used a bunch of skincare AND hair care products. I rarely use much hair care at all and this month there was a ton. I was also happy to finish up a shower gel and body lotion. I am surprised at how much I went through this month. I didn’t even include all the masks I used in Instagram mask challenges. They will be in a post of their own later. Next month has to be less!

What did you finish up this month? Any of the items in my can? Do you hoard any products the way I do bath and body products?

If you enjoyed this post please “like” it. If you follow me then you won’t miss any posts! Thanks for stopping by
