I got the SureMedic Hydro-Hyaluronic Sheet Mask from masksheets.com as part of a Monster Sheet Mask Haul. This was one of many sheet masks that I got for just a $1. If there is one thing I love more than a mask it is a cheap mask!
From the Neogen website:
Sheet mask saturated in an ampoule essence carrying high concentration of hyaluronic acid effectively penetrates your skin for thorough intense moisture replenishment!
Intensively nourishes and deeply penetrates to deliver moisturizing properties into dry skin, to create a ultimately dewy appearance with high luminosity.
How to Use:
1. After cleansing and toning the face, retrieve the sheet mask and carefully place the mask on your face.
2. Leave on for about 10-15mins then remove; gently pat any remaining essence on the face until it is fully absorbed
Ingredients – WATER(AQUA), BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ALCOHOL DENAT., NIACINAMIDE, TREHALOSE, SODIUM HYALURONATE(20PPM), PHYTOSQUALANE, LAMINARIA JAPONICA EXTRACT, UNDARIA PINNATIFIDA EXTRACT, PHASEOLUS RADIATUS EXTRACT, BETULA PLATYPHYLLA JAPONICA BARK EXTRACT, RUMEX CRISPUS ROOT EXTRACT, ADENOSINE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, DIMETHICONE, PEG-60 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, DISODIUM EDTA, XANTHAN GUM, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, TROMETHAMINE,ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, FRAGRANCE(PARFUM)
I don’t like seeing Denatured Alcohol listed as the 3rd ingredient. This is a drying alcohol and shouldn’t be in any skincare products. I don’t understand why that would be in a hydrating mask.
For reference, I have normal skin that is currently having some dry patches around my nose, chin, and mouth. My skin concerns are anti-aging, fine lines and wrinkles, and dark patches. My skin is not particularly sensitive.
I always remove my makeup, cleanse my face, tone, and apply tretinoin before I use a sheet mask. I am using a new serum that I apply before tretinoin so I did that too. I then waited about 2 hours to allow the tretinoin to fully absorb.
I applied my other p.m. serum, The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, and then applied the mask. When I opened the packet I smelled a faint, fruity scent but when I put the mask on my face I could smell the alcohol. The scent did not linger.
The mask was fairly thick and not super soft. It had a fair amount of a thinner serum on it. It was a nicely sized mask that fit my face well. The eye, nose and mouth holes fit my face fairly well. There was enough mask left to pull down over my jawline.
I use a silicone mask cover over sheet masks. It helps hold them in place and presses the serum into my skin. It also prevents the serum from just evaporating. I left the mask on for 40 minutes rather than the 10-15 minutes that the instructions say.
There was serum left on my face when I removed the mask. I massaged and patted it into my skin easily. It was a bit sticky and tacky feeling but putting on my moisturizer mixed with rosehip oil took care of it.
I have to say that this mask worked. My face looked brighter, plumper, and hydrated. My face felt softer and my moisturizer made it feel even better. It seems that the alcohol doesn’t stop the mask from providing excellent hydration.
These masks are now $3.50 on the masksheets website. That is still a good price for this mask. It really works if you are looking for hydration and brightening. So far I have been impressed with the SurMedic line and will repurchase. I have also use the Sur Medic Age Control – Multi Vita Sheet Mask.
Have you tried this mask? Have you tried others in the line? What are your favorite sheet masks?
