Makeup and Skin Care for Mature Skin

This is another limited edition Christmas mask that I got at CVS along with The Creme Shop A Snowman’s Story Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask and The Creme Shop Limited Edition Let it Glow Ultra-Moisturizing Jojoba Oil Sheet Mask. Of the first 2 that I tried I liked one and didn’t care much for the other so I was curious as to how this would work for me.

The mask promised to Smooth Wrinkles, Restore Skin’s Vitality, and Repair Worn Skin. I’m not really sure what worn skin even is so I don’t know if that happened or not. I can’t tell you what the ingredients are because all the writing on this mask is almost impossible to read. The contrast is terrible.

My skin is normal with some shine in warm weather and dry patches in the winter. Right now I am dealing with dry, flaky skin on my chin and around my mouth and nose. My skin concerns are anti-aging, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and the dry areas.

Before applying sheet masks I also do a 2 step cleanse and use my Tretinoin . I like to wait 2 hours after applying the tretinoin to use my mask. I know that most people only wait 30 minutes but I want to get the full benefit of my most important active.

I use my toner and serums before sheet masks as well. I think that it helps them to be absorbed fully into my skin. I spray on my toner and give it a minute to absorb. I then use The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. I have another serum that I use at night but since it contains a silicone I use it after the mask. I am not fond of silicone in skincare because I worry that it prevents the absorption of products I apply after it.

When I opened the packet I noticed that the mask had a light sweet scent, almost a floral scent. It did not smell Christmasy at all. The scent was very light and did not linger. There wasn’t a lot of excess essence in the pouch but the mask itself was fully saturated. The essence was a gel-like consistency.

The mask was very soft, almost pulpy feeling. It was a bit big but fit my face fairly well. It did not smooth out on the edges but I got good coverage. It fit well around my eyes and nose. The strip on my upper lip was too thin though. I get dry skin in the area and like my sheet masks to totally cover it.

The adherence was very good. It had eye flaps so you could get a total spa experience but I didn’t use them. I had things to do so I needed to be able to see! I left this mask on for 40 minutes and it was starting to dry out just a bit.  When I took it off there was a lot of essence on my face. I tapped it in some and then allowed it to absorb. It absorbed very quickly and did not leave my face feeling sticky or tacky.

This mask did make my skin look plump and hydrated. It felt smooth and soft with a slight glow. The parts of my nighttime routine that I applied after the mask went on well. There was no pilling. I liked this one a lot too. I am glad that I picked it up.

My only issue with this mask, and the others in the Naughty and Nice line is that it is so hard to read anything on the packages. It is super low contrast and the letters have a foil look that makes it even harder to read. I like to know the ingredients but I just can’t make them out and I can’t find them online.
