I love the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and I love roses so I had to try the Fresh Rose Face Mask. I got this sample size in a set at Christmas. I was super excited to get to try this sample rather than spending $62 for the 3.3 oz size. This 1 oz sample size is $25 at Sephora.
On the Sephora website, it says this
Fresh Rose Face Mask is a toning gel mask that drenches dull, tired skin with hydration for a healthy-looking complexion. This unique cooling mask is infused with real rose petals (an average of two-and-a-half roses per jar) to restore radiance and suppleness to all skin types.
The refreshing formula targets dry areas with porphyridium cruentum, a “smart” algae that deliver optimum moisture where the skin needs it most. Cucumber extract and aloe vera gel help soothe the skin and have an immediate cooling and calming effect, while antioxidant-rich green tea helps to brighten and protect. Gentle enough to use every day, this powerful mask is perfect for all skin types.
-Pure Rosewater: Soothes and tones.
-Cucumber Extract and Aloe Vera Gel: Help soothe the skin and have an immediate cooling and calming effect.
-Porphyridium Cruentum: Delivers optimum moisture.
-Antioxidant-rich Green Tea: Helps to brighten and protect.
Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Rosa Centifolia Flower, Maris Aqua (Sea Water), Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Porphyridium Cruentum Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, Faex (Yeast Extract), Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Caramel, Maltodextrin, Parfum (Fragrance), BHT, Citronellol, Phenoxyethanol.
When I opened this the scent took me by surprise. It is an odd scent. I can smell rose but it is an earthy rose. It is not what I was expecting. The mask itself is a thick gel-like consistency with rose petals in it.
I applied a thin layer to damp skin after removing my makeup, cleansing, and applying toner. The specks on my face are the rose petals. I left it on for 10 minutes and it had hardened a little. It rinsed off easily and cleanly. My face was a bit smoother and softer but nothing amazing.
I can’t help but compare this to my beloved Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask which is $28 for 3 oz. while Fresh Rose Face Mask is $68 for 3.3 oz. For me, The Body Shop mask is far superior. I like everything about it better. And it is less than 1/2 the price. Ulta has it on sale Buy One Get One 1/2 off once in a while.
This was an ok mask but it didn’t wow me. For that price, I would expect instant results and I do get that from the British Rose Fresh Plumping mask. I am very happy that I tried this as a sample. I know now that I wouldn’t repurchase it.
Have you tried this mask? Did you love it? I know that most people do. Have you tried The Body Shop rose mask? Which do you like better?

Putting entire rose petals in the mask is a little…excessive, haha. I’m glad you found a cheaper one that works better!
