It’s Not You, It’s Me – Products that Didn’t Work Out #9

Wow, it has been forever since It’s Not You, It’s Me – Products that Didn’t Work Out #8. This is a small collection but I did already give some things away. These are products that don’t work for me or don’t work for me right now.

In the upper corner is an Avon eyeshadow and one from Maybelline. I am ashamed to admit that I used these electric blue shades in the past decade. I have no excuse to offer. All I can say is that I know better now and will never do it again. These are going in the trash.

Avon Super Extend Infinitize Mascara in Black – Length + Curl + Lift = Infinitize Triple sphere brush hugs lashes for end-to-end coverage. Wears for 24 hours! Permaset formula wraps lashes with lengthening fibers and curling agents. Humidity- and sweat-proof. Glob-free, non-clumping formula. All-day… I really liked the first tube I had of this. Enough that I bought a 2nd one. When I used it again I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the formula or the wand. I’m pretty sure that it has been discontinued anyway. I’ll let my mom try it and if she doesn’t like it either she can just throw it away.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula – Soft, non-drying lather loosens surface flakes, removes dirt and debris, and protects skin’s natural moisture balance.Quick-rinsing formula leaves skin clean, comfortable, refreshed-never taut or dry. I love Clinique skincare so it is unusual to find any of there products in this kind of post. Using tretinoin has dehydrated my skin so the oily skin formula is just too drying for me. I am passing this on to my son’s girlfriend.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 – Gentle, refreshing formula is the difference-maker for healthy skin. Sweeps away pollution, grime, dulling flakes to reveal smoother, clearer skin. Preps skin for moisturizer—exfoliated skin is more receptive to hydration and treatment products. This formula is also too strong for my skin now. I am trying out kbeauty toners to see if they work better for me. This will go to my son’s girlfriend too.

Essano Rosehip Oil – Nourish your skin with essential nutrients and antioxidants. Harness the unique healing power of 100% natural and Certified Organic Rosehip Oil, which clinical studies have proven to be effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, scars, stretch marks and sun damage. I bought this at Marshalls but my winter skin needed a more hydrating oil. This might be a good oil for summer but oil doesn’t last that long. I’ll let my mom try it.

Have you tried any of these products that I am passing on or trashing? Did they work for you? What do you do with things that don’t work out?

    1. Avon Skin So Soft Gelled Body Oil is amazing. I use it every day. I also like their Beyond Color Lipstick. Back in the day Mary Kay skincare and foundation were all that kept my oil in control. It’s funny how different products work for different people.

  1. I usually like the Clinique Toner 1 but my all time favorite is the Loreal Hydrafresh. I get it on Amazon for $4-ish. It’s very mild, doesn’t sting my eyes, and keep away all the flaky skin! Thanks for the reviews!
